leave the building until the event is over. On July 5th.
o Take what you need and use what you take
o It’s your space, and you can curate as you wish
o We don’t censor or jury artwork
o Artist Marketplace – Sundays in June

Take Care of the Site

• Use freight elevators for large equipment

• Find a volunteer if you need help or have
questions

8
Take Care of the Site
DON’T
• Drill, paint, or damage any concrete surfaces, pipes, or
permanent building features
• Attach tape to any drywall surfaces
• Hang anything from the ceiling, joist, hanger, pipe wire,
sill, window, or any other fixture
• Use the window blinds

9
Electrical + Lighting
• Maximum of 200W total
• Use low voltage halogen or fluorescent lighting
• Use screws, ties, conduits or clamps to secure cords,
transformers, and hardware
• Use ONE of the Artomatic-provided outlets
• Be green!

10
Electrical + Lighting
• Only lights may be hung from the
lighting brackets
• Don’t modify the wooden lighting bracket
above your partition
• Bring your own brackets or lighting
supports if you have a space on central
core walls, outer walls, pillars, or a 3-D
space
• See our lighting and security examples Photo credit: a nameless yeast / flickr

11
Painting + Hardware
• Wood partition – paint any color you like
• Wall, pillar, or drywall – it must be white or off-white
• Use a drop cloth. We like the floors, ceilings, windows
and pillars just the way they are
• All painting supplies should be removed from the site
when you’re finished
• There are no utility sinks available for washing.
• Double bag and bring your brushes home

12
Painting + Hardware
• Bathrooms are brand spankin’ new and may not be
used for cleaning paint or for any other artist installation
materials
• If nature calls, use the bathroom on the 5th floor
• Don’t alter your wall by cutting, damaging, or drilling
large holes. All materials on the top of partition walls
must be firmly attached. No tape
• If your installation requires numerous holes, do it on a
separate sheet, and then affix to the drywall surface

13
Safety + Security
• Safety and Security is every artist’s responsibility
• Please take your artist staff shifts seriously
• Be watchful of the artwork and the visitors around you.
No one should be handling or defacing the artwork.
• If you see any suspicious activity, please report it
immediately to the Gallery Manager.
• Safety and Security concerns or questions?
