MORE THAN HONEY NY THEATRICAL RELEASE Oscar-nominated director Markus Imhoof (The Boat is Full) tackles the vexing issue of why bees, worldwide, are facing extinction. With the tenacity of a man out to solve a world-class mystery, he investigates this global phenomenon, from California to Switzerland, China and Australia. Exquisite macro-photography of the bees in flight and in their hives reveals a fascinating, complex world in crisis. JOEL TETTAMANTI EXHIBITION Jol Tettamanti's photographs are a vast archive of the structures, villages and cities that people create and inhabit, and the landforms and climates that shape their culture. Although his photographs are often devoid of people, the focus of his work is the human presence in the landscape and the people who are uplifted and sometimes defeated by the land they inhabit. This contradiction of human frailty and resilience, and the continuities people form with the land, are embedded in Tettamanti's photographic vision. The exhibition Compass Points is on view until August 31st, 2013. Image: Jol Tettamanti, Qaqortoq, Greenland, 2004.
