MAP OF KINGS COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE

Please scroll down for information on finding rooms...

Finding Kings interview rooms There will be signs up around college and the students at the helpdesk (located in the bar) will help you find rooms too. Nonetheless, we thought that a few notes might be useful. Chetwynd Room Go through the bar and past the toilets on your left. The Chetwynd Room will be straight in front of you - in Scotts Building on the map. Rylands Room Go into the Old Lodge at the entrance indicated on the map. Go up the stairs on your left. When you get to the top, bear right. The Rylands Room is the last door on your right. Parlour You can see this indicated on the map. You need to go in the door opposite the porters lodge Please note that you need to collect a swipe card from the porters lodge shortly before your interview to let you through the door. Once youre in, please go right to the top of the stairs and the parlour is the only room there. Please dont forget to return the swipe card to the porters immediately after your interview. A staircase The entrance to A staircase is on the left just before you go through the doors into the bar. Go up the stairs and youll find that it opens up into a hall with a second set of stairs. To get to A4 and A5 you need to go through a door on the left just before the second set of stairs. Go down the corridor there and youll find the rooms. To get to the Munby Room go up the second set of stairs and the Munby Room is the first room on your left. K402 Give yourself plenty of time to find this room. K stands for Keynes Building. We suggest that you go in where weve indicated K on the map. Youll walk past the hall on your right and see the bar on your left. In front of you youll find some stairs and you need to go up to the 4th floor. Dont be phased by the slightly bizarre stair set-up (they joined one building onto another...) just keep heading upwards. When you get to the 4th floor youve got quite a bit of walking down corridors to do before you get to the room. The doors are numbered and there are signs to follow. E, F, G, H staircases Rooms starting E, F, G or H are in the Gibbs Building and you can see them indicated on the map. Each of the doors into the Gibbs Building has the letter above it. The room numbers are written above the doors and there are two numbers to each floor. Generally speaking the higher the number, the more stairs youll have to go up to get to the room. Many of the rooms in this building have one large outer room with two doors off it leading to the left or right inner rooms. You may be interviewd in an outer room or you may be able to wait/read in the outer room ready for an interview in the inner room.

Note that F7A and F7B are in the basement of F staircase. Go down the stairs, turn left and left again. Note that you need to go through a door before you get to the two rooms (F7B on the left, F7A on the right). Other letter staircases You can see the entrances to each staircase indicated on the map. Beware that some of the doors in Bodleys slide across rather than opening in the normal way so if you push a door and nothing happens you may want to try sliding the door! Old Lodge The Provosts Study is straight in front of you when you go into the Old Lodge (enter where it says Rylands Room). For Dr Marstons room and the Rylands Room, go into the Old Lodge at the entrance indicated on the map. Go up the stairs on your left. When you get to the top, bear right. You will need to go through the door which says The Rylands Suite above it. Then youll see Dr Marstons room immediately on your right (it says Dr Marston 14 above it) and the the Rylands Room is the room after it, still on your right. Room 3, 13 KP Note that 13 KP is not on the main Kings site. It is down a little alley across the road from the college. You can see the door to 13KP indicated on the map above. Please note that you need to collect a swipe card from the porters lodge shortly before your interview to let you into 13 KP. Please dont forget to return the swipe card to the porters immediately after your interview.
