Glendale, AZ 85301 04/21/2013 Dear Sir/Madam/to whom it may concern, My name is Idris Idris, I am a first semester BSN for BDG students. I am writing to you to accept my request to be placed in second semester and not to repeat Health Assessment. During my first couple of weeks, I placed my focus on all classes, which made me achieve an average (above 80%) on all exams, but during mid-semester, the workload increased for classes and exams are every other week that fall consecutively after each other which made me lose focus, and get distracted easily during class. My attendance in all classes is perfect and because of the vast amount of information that must be learned in Health Assessment, most of the material is crammed within Fundamental course in order to be prepared for exam. I got confused sometimes on which material supposed to be with which of the two classes. Additionally, during my clinical rotation, my clinical instructors Ms. BA Jones evaluated me as outstanding in both the clinical work and the online Docucare notes that I have made on my assigned patients. She also, recommended me to show some of my classmates how to better document patient information and not to miss major details. Furthermore, I also have been checked off on all my work such as for the catheter, and medication orders. They had been rated as satisfactory, In Health Assessment; I have right now a 76.1%, which will not move me forward to the next semester. I have talked to my professor to show me ways to study better for the class, but all she gave me is a website questions that did not really help me achieve the proper score needed to pass the class. I received 80% on my last exam instead of 85% to pass the class (was not able to finish on time). During the last week of the semester, my Pathophysiology teacher recommended that I should look at the Test Taking success book that was giving to us a week before classes started, for tips on how to take nursing exams choosing key words. Now that I have looked at it, I wished that they have informed me of the tips and strategies in taking exams. Mainly, since English is my second language, it takes me more time than the average students to read, comprehend, and answer the questions. It is for those reasons that I requested to be placed in the second semester and not to repeat the Heath Assessment class again. I planned to focus more on academics and use all resources available in doing so. If you need to reach me, my phone number is 623-225-1064. Thank you for reading my letter I hope to hear from you soon. Yours faithfully,

Idris A. Idris
