Introduction
Issues on green materials and sustainable construction, structural designs for sustainable construction and disaster mitigation, building codes and standards and their influence on material use and construction practices become the main issues in this seminar. Structural engineering is one of civil engineering specialization which is closely related to development of infrastructures. Basically, buildings, bridges or other structures should be designed and constructed to meet requirements, especially in safety and quality. Other aspects, such as environmental issues and natural hazards, are also important to be considered in structural engineering. Experts and researchers are encouraged to provide solutions for every structural analysis and design methods for engineering problems. It is essential to develop innovations in structural materials and systems, as well as analytical and design methods. Sophisticated analytical methods, supported by advanced computational technology, are also becoming necessary to solve many structural engineering problems.
