Thread spindle: - It holds the spool of thread Pressure regulator: - It is the control that regulates the amount of pressure on Presser foot. Thread retainer: - (Pre-tensioner) It applies small amount of tension to the disc so that the thread will flow uniformly in the tension discs.

Take-up lever: - It first loosens the thread for stitch formation then removes any slack to set or lock the stitch. Thread guides: - (thread eyelets) they smooth the thread and protect it from abrasion. Presser foot:- It holds the fabric in place for stitching

Needle bar: - It holds one or more needles and moves the needle up and down. Needle screw: - (needle bar clamp) it holds the needle with the needle bar. Presser bar: - The bar to which presser foot is attached. Feed dogs :- (feed dog, feeder or feed) the toothed mechanism beneath the presser foot that moves fabric forward and backward.

Throat plate: - It protects the lower part from building excess lint.

Needle: - It penetrates the fabric. It takes the thread to the hook or shuttle and up again to make the stitch.
Stitch hole (needle hole):- The hole in the throat plate the needle carries the thread into the hole so that it can interlock with the bobbin thread.

Bobbin Mechanism
Center Post: - A part of shuttle or rotary hook. It holds the bobbin case in position (stationary). Hence, bobbin and shuttle can move independently. Bobbin rotates about the center post.
Bobbin: - It holds the lower supply of thread
