GeneralLeeacknowledgesthattheUnionsiegeofPetersburgandRichmondis working,andhepreparestofleesouthtojoinanotherdivisionoftheConfederate Army. Makingmattersworse,GeneralPickett(theonewholedtheunsuccessfulsouthern chargeinGettysburg)lostakeybattletotheUnionatnearbyFiveForks.
