__________________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: This course aims to equip students with the necessary research skills to conduct research in the field of office systems and management. Students will be exposed to research methodologies appropriate to their discipline as well as those most commonly used in other disciplines. Throughout this course, the students will make extensive use of library resources. At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to produce simple, yet concise research and to master the act of finding good resources to be used later in research writing. Project Proposal (30%) i. ii. iii. iv. v. vi. There will be one (1) research proposal which carries 100 marks. Each student/group will select a topic and prepare a comprehensive written plan that describes the design of the research process. Consultation with supervisor and/or co-supervisor should be carried out at least once a week. Details of consultation with supervisor and/or co-supervisor must be recorded in a log book. The proposal formatted according to APA should explain how the student should investigate the area of interest. The proposal should be conceptually clear, detailed, organized, feasible and follow the guidelines provided by the Academic Project Coordinator. The proposal should be between 7 15 pages excluding the preliminary pages, reference page, and appendices.
