The Reconciliation of a Penitent is always available in our Church to those who desire it. Reconciliation is particularly appropriate during Lent since Lent is the time during the Church Year that we are taught to consider those things we have done or left undone and accept God's forgiveness. Confession is fundamental to the worship of the Church. Individual confession can be affirming though it is neither necessary nor obligatory. To find out more about the rite, see page 446 of the Book of Common Prayer; to discuss or receive the sacrament, contact Johnnette+. This week, Episcopal News Service highlights the Presiding Bishops Easter message, and also features a story of how churches keep up the pressure to reduce gun violence.
