PROJECT GOAL

Project a modern and advanced image of Pakistan to the world Exploit the unique strategic location of Pakistan for business ventures and development. Bring foreign investors into Pakistan to boost the economy Make Islamabad as an international icon in the Asian region

OBJECTIVE
Build a state of the art and advanced international airport in Islamabad. Provide a safe environment for locals and foreigners visiting Pakistan Providing the new economic superpower China with a transportation and access route to the West Design the airport in the style that speaks of Pakistans identity to the rest of the world.

BUSINESS CASE
Pakistan has an exceptional and a significant strategic location in Asia. The ongoing progress of the neighboring countries and the recent shift of the global economic deciding factors towards the East has made Pakistans location and presence all so important. The growing economy and development activity in Afghanistan and the Soviet block are the other factors contributing to the lead taken by the East in recent years. In order to exploit this opportunity, Pakistan like other countries in the region needs to alter its image and provide a fruitful and vibrant platform for business ventures. A new state of the art airport in Islamabad, reflecting the progressive approach of Pakistan through its architecture is proposed. The airport will cater to both commercial and cargo flights. The airport will have the provision of catering to 20 flights per hour along with a Sky Walk restaurant, Hill side Hotel and Duty free shopping mall.

BUDGET
Total budget = $100 Million Contingency reserves = 10% Management reserves = 5%

TIME LINE
The project time is 7years. This includes the following timelines : Selection of land, Board of Revenue documentation, Leasing agreements etc = 6 Months Designing of the building and services including all working and construction drawings = 12 Months Execution Phase 1 = 30 Months Execution Phase 2 = 30 Months Handover and completion including finishes etc. = 6 Months

HIGH LEVEL SCOPE


Identification and obtaining the land for an international airport in Islamabad. Designing the building by a collaboration of local and foreign consultants following the regulations by Federal Civil Aviation Authority. Construction & execution of the building and transfer the operations to CAA.
