Components come in a range of elastomer and hard metal types and materials to suit any application, for maximum abrasion and corrosion resistance. The removable cartridge-type bearing assembly facilitates easy on-site maintenance procedures on-site. A range of seal types are provided to suit every requirement, including centrifugal shaft seals to eliminate gland sealing water are available.

Specifications
Size Range: 25mm to 450mm discharge. Capacity: Head: Breakdown: to 5,000 m/hr. to 100 metres. Radial split casing pump with wet parts made from a selection of high chrome alloys or rubbers to ensure maximum abrasion and corrosion resistance. The shaft seal design allows for use of either packing seal, expeller seal or mechanical seal. Drive types V-belt drive, gear reducer drive, fluid coupling drive and variable frequency drive devices. Bearing assembly enables easy clearance adjustment for the impeller and front liner. Can be removed completely for repairs. Bearing assembly uses grease lubrication. The discharge direction can be positioned at intervals of 45 on request and oriented to any of eight positions to suit installation requirements. Wide application, good NPSH and high-efficiency. 1. Bearing Cartridge Assembly A large diameter shaft with a short overhang minimises deflection and vibration. Heavy-duty taper roller bearings are housed in a removable bearing cartridge. Interchangeable, extra heavy-duty cartridge assemblies are also available on request. 2. Pump Base A one piece casting cradles the bearing cartridge assembly. A minimum number of through bolts hold the pump casing to the frame. A single-point impeller adjustment facility is provided in a convenient position below the bearing cartridge, thus minimising contamination from the media being pumped. 3. Shaft Sleeve Various options are available from standard to hardened sleeves with O-Ring seals at both ends to protect the shaft. A slip fit allows the sleeve to be removed and installed quickly. Various types of materials are available to cater for different duty requirements. 4. Gland Seal ZLS injectable gland sealing systems can be used for some slurry pump applications. It does not require gland water and is virtually maintenance-free. A packed gland type seal is available and can be fitted with ultra-low, low or full-flow flush seal water arrangements. 5. Expeller Seal This option is available for most slurry pumping applications, except for series pumping or applications with high suction head. 3

Bearing Assembly - The bearings, shaft and housing are oversized to avoid shaft deflection with cantilevered shaft models. The two part assembly is lubricated and sealed by labyrinths. The upper or drive end bearing is a parallel roller type, whilst the lower bearing is a double-taper roller with preset end float. This high performance bearing arrangement and robust shaft eliminates the need for a lower submerged bearing. Column Assembly - Completely steel fabricated. The SPR model is elastomer lined. Casing - Has a simple bolt-on attachment to the base of the column. It is manufactured from a wear resistant alloy for the SP and from moulded elastomer for the SPR both inside and out. Impeller - Double suction impellers (top and bottom entry) induce low axial bearing loads and incorporate a deep vane design for maximum wear resistance and the handling of large solids. Wear resistant alloys and moulded elastomer impellers are interchangeable. The impeller is adjusted axially within the casting during assembly by external shims under the bearing housing feet. Upper Strainer - Drop-in metal mesh; snap-on elastomer on SP and SPR pumps. Strainers fit into column openings. Lower Strainer - Bolted metal on SP; Moulded snap-on elastomer for SPR. Discharge Pipe - Metal for SP; elastomer covered for SPR. All wetted metal parts are completely rust protected. Submerged Bearings None. Agitation - An external agitator spray connection arrangement can be fitted to the pump as an option. Materials - Pumps can be manufactured in abrasive and corrosive resistant materials. 7

The selection chart should be used as a basic guide only. This chart indicates the range and quantity of flow available from pumps with standard impellers. It can also, however, be used to obtain a preliminary pump selection providing the user is able to estimate the quantity of slurry to be pumped and the developed head required.

Vertical Froth Pumps

Technical Overview
The Froth Pump has been designed to increase the pumping ability of frothy suspensions. The principle of operation is similar to that of hydro-cyclone separation. Air is separated from the slurry in a vortex created by the impeller rotation and the tangential inlet to the pumps conical sump. This results in more efficient pumping at higher capacities and a smooth operation, free from pulsations caused by air-locking. Froth Pumps are ideal for all applications involving handling of air-entrained slurries, such as flotation froth in base metal concentrators, phosphate and apatite washing plants and calcium carbonate upgrading plants. The pump can also be used as a mixing and distribution unit, where dry powder has to be mixed (and wetted) with water. It can also be used with cement in ready-mixed concrete and for grouting.

Specifications
Size Range: 50mm to 200mm discharge. Capacities: to 570 m/hr. Heads: Breakdown: to 25 metres. Double casing structure with no need for any shaft seal and sealing water, easy to assemble. The pump series are high efficiency, wear resistant and have stable performance across operating range. Drive types Belt driven.
