Confronting the American Holocaust It has been said, "if wombs had windows, there would be no abortions." This was said with the hope that if people realized that what they were actually doing is murdering their children, the American holocaust which has included the deaths of over 40 million innocent children, would finally end. Sadly, this well intended assumption has proven to be false. Today's advancements in ultrasound technology have given us a virtual window into the womb. Many pro-abortion advocates have hoped in the past that the general public would think of the preborn child as nothing more than a "blob of tissue." Parents today, however, can see their children in unbelievable and breathtaking detail, never before imagined. Although the current technology has made the difference in the lives of thousands of children, it has not changed the depravity of the human heart. There will always be those who will be willing to dispose of their children's lives as long as it is legal, and unfortunately, there will always be those hired guns in the medical community who will gladly exterminate the life of a child for big money. Sadly, this is the case in spite of the Hippocratic oath where they swear to preserve life. The proof that we as a people have drifted far from our moral bearings and have become a truly decadent nation is in the fact that we can recognize that their is human life in the womb and still dispose of it in a cavalier manner. This is further evidenced in the recent law known as the "Unborn Victims of Violence Act", also known as "Laci and Conner's Law." The Act was nicknamed the "Laci and Conner Law" in memory of Laci Peterson and her little boy Conner who had been in the womb for about eight months before he was violently killed along with his mother. Both Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate overwhelmingly passed the bill in an attempt to protect unborn children from assault and murder. President Bush made the following remarks on the day he signed the bill into law earlier this month: "The Unborn Victims of Violence Act provides that, under federal law, any person who causes death or injury to a child in the womb shall be charged with a separate offense, in addition to any charges relating to the mother. As of today, the law of our nation will acknowledge the plain fact that crimes of violence against a pregnant woman often have two victims... This act of Congress addresses tragic losses such as Sharon and Ron have known. They have laid to rest their daughter, Laci, a beautiful young woman who was joyfully awaiting the arrival of a new son. They have also laid to rest that child, a boy named Conner, who was waiting to be born when his life, too, was taken. His little soul never saw light, but he was loved, and he is remembered. (Applause.) And his name is forever joined with that of his mom in this statute, which is also known as Laci and Conner's Law. All who knew Laci Peterson have mourned two deaths, and the law cannot look away and pretend there was just oneIf the crime is murder and the unborn child's life ends, justice demands a full accounting under the law... And now, the protection of federal law extends to those children, as well. With this action, we widen the circle of compassion and inclusion in our society, and we reaffirm that the United States of America is building a culture of life. It is now my honor to sign the Unborn Victims of

Violence Act of 2004." This is a law that President Bush exclaimed has been long over due. Indeed, it is illegal to destroy the egg of a bald eagle, which is punishable by fine and even imprisonment, but the murder of preborn babies has long been overlooked by nearly everybody but the victims. While rabid pro-abortion advocates must look at the new bill as a hole in the dike, it is clear that too many people are ignorant to the ramifications that this admission should have upon the practice of abortion. If a criminal is to be considered guilty of murder by terminating the life an unborn child, how is it that a man and a woman who choose to kill the same baby are considered innocent? If the child in question is considered a person, it is still murder whether my wife and I choose to kill our baby or a complete stranger ends the baby's life. No "law" that allows for abortion will undermine this fact! From the moment of fertilization the fetus already contains the entire intricacies and complexities of genetic blueprint. Everything from hair, eye color, skin tone, height and sex are determined immediately. Science has acknowledged that what is growing in the womb is biological life. The life in the womb is not an animal or plant, but human, and the destruction of that life is nothing less than murder. Many of us experienced heartache, tears or even gut wrenching nausea when we heard the news that Andrea Yates drowned her children in a bathtub or that Deanna Laney bludgeoned her children to death with rocks. Many have called them brutal killers or delusional psychopaths. Yet many of these same people that found their excuses for murder to be morally repugnant will take their children into a hospital or abortion clinic and have a "professional" do the dirty work and consider it moral because it is legal. Killing Jews in Nazi Germany was perfectly legal, yet in reality it was a huge crime in the eyes of God and to those who refuse to be self-deceived. How can we mourn the tragic loss of little children outside the womb and deem those who commit such crimes against humanity as either immoral or insane and then turn around and celebrate the "choice" to murder innocent children within the womb? Northeastern University Professor Eileen McDonagh teaches her students that the unborn baby is a parasite who "massively intrudes on a woman's body and expropriates her liberty," and on this faulty premise justifies the "use of deadly force to stop it." McDonagh thus turns the innocent child into a criminal who has invaded the mother's body. She never seems to consider the fact that in well over 99.9% of all pregnancies the mother and the father willingly engage in a sexual act that was biologically designed to bring forth life. The choice to have a child is made in the bedroom. If a baby is made in the process of a sexual act, we have no right to call the child a criminal and resort to murder in order to solve the "problem." Peter Singer, professor of bioethics at Princeton University, advocates the right to kill your children up to 28 days after they are born. Singer states that if children are deemed to be "incompetent" by their families, they may be judged as nonpersons and thus "replaceable." The family of the newborn child may thus move to have their baby put to death and decide for the child that he or she is "not worth living." To comprehend just how jaded our society has become, it will do us well to note that last year Professor Singer was awarded the World Technology Award for Ethics by the World Technology Network. It should be alarming to see that in America we are now seeing many of the mindsets that contributed to what became Nazi Germany under Adolph Hitler. Since the "Me" generation of the sixties, American society has largely succumbed to a culture of death. Today, rather than celebrating life, we celebrate the "freedom" to take the life of another. Abortion, euthanasia and infanticide are all becoming more and more acceptable to the so-called "intellectual elite" in our nation. Sadly, this paradigm is what led to the Holocaust in Germany wherein millions of Jews were exterminated as though they were mere vermin. Indeed, there is a chilling connection between the eugenics practiced by Nazi Germany and the slippery course that present society in now descending. Margaret Sanger, who was the founder and first president of Planned Parenthood, the world's largest

abortion promoter and provider, was also a rabid promoter of eugenics (controlled breeding). It is no coincidence that Sanger, who is greatly responsible for the murder of countless millions of children, is connected to eugenicists who played a decided role in the Nazi Holocaust. Sanger gave the welcoming address at an international eugenics conference and supported the idea that severe actions should be taken to weed undesirables out of the human race. It is not surprising then that Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood have played a decided role in the American Holocaust which is responsible for the death of over 40 million innocent American children. Margaret Sanger appointed Lothrop Stoddard as a board member of the Birth Control League, which was the forerunner of Sanger's Planned Parenthood. Stoddard was a passionate devotee of eugenics, compulsory sterilization, and a personal friend of Germany's Adolph Hitler. Stoddard rejoiced in how the Germans were successfully using eugenics in "weeding out the worst strains in the Germanic stock in a scientific and truly humanitarian way." In 1940 he declared that the so-called "Jew problem" is "already settled in principle and soon to be settled in fact by the physical elimination of the Jews themselves from the Third Reich." Jews were targeted early on for sterilization and induced abortion in an effort to weed them out of the Arian race. Stoddard's writings on race were also "featured in Nazi school textbooks." Sanger also utilized the propaganda of Ernst Rudin, who was a leader in German eugenics and director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Genealogy in Munich, Germany. Rudin strongly supported Hitler's extermination of those believed to weaken the human race. Rudin proclaimed, "We can hardly express our efforts more plainly or appropriately than in the words of the Fuhrer [Adolph Hitler]: 'Whoever is not physically or mentally fit must not pass on his defects to his children. The state must take care that only the fit produce children." Three months before the German "sterilization law" was passed, Rudin's article "Eugenic Sterilization: An Urgent Need" was published in Margaret Sanger's Birth Control Review. In the article Rudin speaks of the need to use "propaganda" to spread the eugenics movement. Sanger looked upon people of African descent and other minorities as inferior and claimed that the poor and the handicapped were the "sinister forces of the hordes of irresponsibility and imbecility," declaring that their very existence was an "attack upon the stocks of intelligence and racial health." She declared that those who were less privileged members of society were nothing more than "a dead weight of human waste." While Sanger fell short of advocating outright extermination of certain races in America, it is clear that she deemed abortion as an effective means of controlling the birthrate of those whom she judged as inferior. Margaret Sanger's "Negro Project" was "hailed for its work in spreading contraception among those who eugenicists most deeply feared." When it was found that contraceptives were not doing the job, Sanger and others turned to the final solution, which was abortion. Sanger not only spoke disparagingly of those she judged inferior, but it is no secret that Planned Parenthood from its earliest days has targeted minority areas. There has long been a disproportionate amount of abortion mills in black areas, as opposed to white areas throughout the United States of America. Sanger was known as a very promiscuous woman who jumped from sex partner to sex partner, which she referred to as her "voluntary mates." She was not only addicted to drugs, but was an occultist who was "Obsessed with numerology, astrology, and psychics." She wrote harshly against the idea of abstinence and selfcontrol, stating that society should "Remove the constraints and prohibitions which now hinder the release of inner [sexual] energies" She viewed abortion as not only a powerful weapon in the hands of eugenicists, but as an effective means of birth control. The fallout of her philosophies has been an increase in the rate of divorce, an epidemic in sexually transmitted diseases and the sacrifice of millions of children on the narcissistic altar of self. Many have justified the murder of little children behind the smoke screen that a woman should have the right to choose what she wants to do with her own body. However, consider for a moment the rapist who claims that rape isn't wrong

because he should have the "freedom" to "choose" what he wants to do with his own body. All rational human beings will agree that the rapist does not have the right to use his body in such a way as to jeopardize the well being of someone else's body. So it is that a man or a woman cannot rightfully claim that they may morally exercise their right over their body and murder an innocent child in the process. Pro-abortionists argue for the right to kill a child, but in lauding their right to kill they become quite anti-choice in denying the child his or her right to continue living. Our rights should rightfully stop when they jeopardize the health or life of another human being! We often hear talk of the right of the pregnant woman to choose to abort, but what about the rights of the twenty million little girls who have had their lives snuffed out prematurely? The following is taken from the diary of a preborn little girl: "October the 5th: "Dear Diary, Today my life began. My parents do not know it yet. I am so small; I'm as small as the pollen of a flower, but it is I already. I will be a girl. I will have blonde hair and blue eyes. Nearly everything is settled already, even that I shall love flowers. October 19th: I've grown a little, but I'm still too small to do anything myself. My mother does almost everything for me. Though she still does not know it, she is carrying me under her heart. She does not know that she is already helping me, and that she is even feeding me with her own blood. She is so good, but is it true that I'm not yet a real person, that only my mother exists? I am a real person, just as a small crumb of bread is still real bread! October 23: My mouth is just now beginning to open. Just think, in a year or two I'll be laughing and I will start to talk! My first word will be 'Mama.' October 25: Today my heart began to beat! It will beat softly for the rest of my life, never stopping! After many years, it will tire. Then it will stop, and I shall die. November 2: I'm growing continually. My arms and legs are taking shape, but I must wait a long time before those tiny legs will raise me to my mother's arms, and before those little arms will be able to conquer the earth and befriend people. November the12th: My fingers are be-ginning to form on my hand. How small they are! One day I will stroke my mother's hair with them. I shall take her hair in my mouth, and she'll say, 'Oh, nasty.' November 20th: Only today that doctor told my mother that I'm living here under her heart. How happy she must be! Are you happy, Mother? November 25: My mother and father are probably thinking about a name for me. They don't even know that I'm a little girl, so they're probably calling me 'Andy,' but I want to be called 'Barbara.' I am growing so big. December the 10th: My hair is growing. It is as bright and shiny as the sun! I wonder what kind of hair my mother has. December the 12th: I'm almost able to see, though it's night all around me. When Mother brings me into the world, it will be full of sunshine and overflowing with flowers. I've never seen a flower, you know, but more than anything, I want to see my mother! How do you look, Mom? December the 24th: I-wonder if my mother hears the delicate beat of my heart. Some children are born with sickly hearts, and then the gentle finger of the doctor performs miracles to make them healthy. But my heart is healthy. It beats so evenly. Tut, tut, tut, tut. You shall have a healthy, little daughter, Mom! December 28th: Today my mother killed me." Many of us watched the movie Schindler's List with disgust as we wondered how so many German's could stand by and watch their fellow human beings dragged off to the gas chambers without so much as a word of protest. We do not have to wonder anymore as to how people can be so callous as many Americans are watching millions of innocent children taken to the modern holocaust in the abortion mills without the slightest of protest. Ironically the silence over the American Holocaust is even more damning than the silence and indifference in Nazi Germany. This is due to the fact that German dissenters were imprisoned or put to death for speaking out, whereas those of us who speak out against the present holocaust take little risk. Moreover, we are more culpable because we cannot claim that we are ignorant to the fact of abortion as many in Germany claimed they were ignorant to the holocaust until it was too late to stop it. God's Word warns that it is a great crime to shed innocent blood (Deuteronomy 19:10; Proverbs 6:17; Isaiah 1:15 and Jeremiah 22:17). God states in His Holy

Word that He is intimately involved with the creation process of the preborn child in the womb prior to birth (Psalm 139:13-16). God's word not only looks at the killing of the innocent as wicked, but God's Word speaks in even stronger terms against the murder of innocent children (Leviticus 18:21; 20:1-5; Deuteronomy 12:31). God has pronounced the severest of judgment on those who kill children (Jeremiah 7:30-34; Ezekiel 16:20-21; 36-38; 20:31). Just because the U.S.A. allows men and women to abort their children does not mean it is acceptable before God. The Bible teaches that murderers will spend eternity in the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8; 14:9-11). God's Word states that it is "appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). If you, as a woman, have had an abortion or as a man have encouraged a woman to get an abortion, you need to make sure you are forgiven before you stand before God and give an account for your life. God loves you so much that He sent His Son into the world not to condemn you, but to save you (John 3:16-17). Jesus Christ died for your sins on the cross. He even paid for the sin of abortion. We have all committed terrible sins against God and others, but Jesus Christ paid the entire price of sin on the cross. If you will simply humble yourself and admit that you are a sinner and turn from a life of sin and rebellion against God and place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be saved. The apostle Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:9-13). The beauty of this is that you will not only be forgiven, but when it is time for you to die you will see your child in heaven. For those of you who are considering having an abortion in the future, you need to realize that there are at least two other options, which don't include murder. (1) You may simply have your child. This we can guarantee you will never regret. (2) You can bless your child by allowing him or her to live and give your child up for adoption. There is a long waiting list of people who would love to have a child but cannot. Both of these choices are infinitely better than murder, and we can guarantee your child will be grateful that you chose to let him or her live! For those of you who have not had an abortion but have also not done anything about it, you need to realize that by standing by and allowing the innocent to be dragged off to death and doing nothing will also incur some guilt. God's Word states: "Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this,' does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?" (Proverbs 24:11-12) Thankfully there is much we can do! We can pray for our national leaders and for those who are aborting their children and those performing abortions. We can become more vocal and make people more aware of the present day holocaust. We can open up our hearts and adopt children. We can extend care and love for those young ladies who are confused and in need of help. We can support pro-life organizations like the Crisis Pregnancy Center, financially or otherwise. There are many other wonderful things we can do to rescue the innocent from the house of slaughter. In fact, this Saturday, April 24th, the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Simi Valley is having their 13th annual Walk for Life at the Amphitheatre at Rancho Park at 8:30 AM. Sadly, a pro-abortion advocate tore down about a hundred signs that were placed throughout Simi Valley to advertise this event, which helps in the effort to rescue lives of innocent children. This is all the more reason to get out there and participate in this worthy cause, which consists of an early morning walk through a designated area in Simi Valley, lunch in the park, live music, love and great fun for everyone. Hundreds of people will be there from several Christian churches. Please, make a decision now to join us as we Walk for Life! Pastor Joe Schimmel Blessed Hope Chapel
