AUGMENTATION OF WATER SUPPLY SCHEME IN DAR ES SALAAM AND CHALINZE

TENDER NO; AE/033/2012-2013/CS/07 REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) PROVISION OF CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY OF THE DAR ES SALAAM- CHALINZE WATER SUPPLY PROJECT 1. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received Credit from the Export and Import Bank of India towards the costs of Improvement of Water supply in Dar es Salaam Tanzania, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit to cover eligible payments under the contract for Project Management Consultancy of the Dar es Salaam- Chalinze Water Supply Project. 2. The Dar es Salaam Water Supply and Sewerage Authority on behalf of the United Republic of Tanzania now invites eligible Consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Eligibility is restricted to Indian companies registered in India and incorporated/established under any law in force in India. These services include but not limited to; Review of designs and tender documents for expansion of the Upper Ruvu Water treatment plant with the aim of increasing its production capacity from 82MLD to 160MLD. Review of designs and tender documents for extension of the transmission mains from the Upper Ruvu plant with sizes ranging from DN600 to DN1200 and rehabilitation of storage reservoirs. Design review and review of tender documents for extension of the secondary and tertiary distribution network in selected areas between Mlandizi and Kimara.

Detailed design/design review for Chalinze Water Supply Network and preparation of Tender Documents Construction supervision of the above proposed works.

3. Interested Indian firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services by submitting consultants profile, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. 4. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Tanzanian Public Procurement Act No. 21 of 2004 and the Public Procurement (Selection and Employment of Consultants) Regulations Government Notice No. 98 of 2005. 5. Selection will be conducted through the Quality and Cost Based Selection procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations. 6. Expressions of Interest in sealed envelopes clearly marked Expression of Interest for Provision of Consultancy Services- Project Management of the Dar es Salaam Chalinze Water Supply Project must be delivered to the address below at or before 10.00 hours local time on Tuesday January 15, 2013. 8.
