The Patient and Her Care IVF used/consumed D5 LRS (5% Dextrose Lactated Ringers Solution) 1L General Description Hypertonic solution that has higher osmolarity than the serum. It pulls fluid and electrolytes from the intracellular and interstitial compartments into the intravascular compartment. It is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution for fluid and electrolyte replenishment and caloric supply administered intravenously. Indication or purpose Since the patient was on NPO upon admission, she was given D5 LRS as her IVF administered intravenously to serve as a source of water, electrolytes, and calories. It also serves as a route for medication administration.

D5 0.3 NaCl (5% Dextrose 0.3 Sodium Chloride) 500cc

To maintain rehydration and to replace fluid loss, patient was given this IVF.
