On four afternoons per week the children take part in the multi-activity prgramme. There will usually be a choice of numerous activities each afternoon. On one other afternoon all the students take part in a fun day, which includes either an English Fete afternoon or a trip ten-pin bowling.
The House Parents are responsible for the welfare of the students in the boarding houses and during break times and meals, supported by the rest of the staff at the school. They will attend to any needs the students have and help them solve any issues.

Morning Lessons
English Lessons
The English lessons take place on 5 mornings each week, giving our students 15 hours of dedicated language tuition per week. The lessons are interactive and fun, perfect for children aged 8-12. The students are tested on arrival to gauge their level and placed in classes on the basis of ability, age & nationality. Every student receives 15 hours of lessons each week from qualified, friendly teachers. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 15 students, giving every student a chance to receive lots of individual attention.
Afternoon Activities
Multi-Activity
On four afternoons each week the students get to choose from a wide range of activities that take place at the school, using the fantastic facilities we have to offer.
When learning a language, its important that it is put into a real context to enable students to express their interests and experiences. Each week the students work on a group project, such as the school magazine, to put their English into practice. They will also have a lesson to prepare them for their day trips.
One afternoon each week is dedicated to a fun day which offers our students the chance to experience a fun day with circus skills, zorbing and bouncy castles or an English Fete Day which is a typically English afternoon of fun challenges and traditional carnival games.
Afternoon Trip
Every child will enjoy an afternoon of ten pin bowling with a trip on alternate weeks. The ten pin bowling centre is located in the nearby county town of Worcester.
Students progress is monitored closely during their stay and on departure all students receive an Abberley Hall International Summer School Certificate, plus a progress report.
The syllabus
The Abberley Hall Summer School syllabus focuses on communication and fluency. Lessons are designed to be fun, interactive and to bring the English language to life. We use modern language teaching techniques, encouraging students to develop their English by providing them with information that is relevant and useful.
For more information please call us on +44(0)1943 878 518
English Plus+
On two afternoons each week, students can choose to take part in our English Plus+ activities. The English Plus+ activities are specialist courses run by professional coaches. The English Plus+ activities are an optional extra and can be selected at the time of booking. If an English Plus+ course is selected, this will replace the Multi-Activity programme on 2 afternoons per week. It is only possible to select one option each week.
Evening Activities
Evening activities give the whole school the opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed, multi-national environment, whilst taking part in varied and exciting activities. Some evenings the whole school participates together in an exciting activity such as a treasure hunt, pool party, disco or talent night, while on other evenings the girls may have a pyjama party while the boys have a camping night. After a long day on an excursion all the children can relax with popcorn at our movie night. The Abberley Hall International Summer School Activity and Teaching staff are there to ensure that the children have a fantastic time every evening.
This course is for our more adventurous students and includes varied and exciting activities including kayaking, laser quest, climbing and woodland survival skills. The Adventure Sports course is led by qualified professionals, accompanied by our own staff.
This fun and creative performance course combines Dance, Drama and Singing. Led by our very own performing arts staff, our students will create performance pieces for the Abberley Hall Summer School Show! As the English Plus+ Showtime course works towards an endof-course performance, it cannot be selected for only 1 week (2 or 4 weeks only).
