Poles Melting NASA has reported that its satellite "Radarsat" detected a huge hole over a mile at the

north pole. The ice on the North Pole melts faster. The Inuit (tribe inhabiting the region), were the first to notice the problem, since they had to take advantage of the little time remaining ice to hunt, of years to the present, it has been noted that the periods each once are wider, in other words, the time when the sea is free of ice has become increasingly widespread. The environmental organization WWF, confirms that the average temperature has risen by 5 degrees celcius and this in turn has led to the disappearance of a polar cap equivalent to one million square kilometers The melting, in fact, is one of the largest and most serious threats facing humanity. Since this problem involves many other complications in the way of living of the people. The melting of polar ice is breaking the delicate balance that exists on the planet, this will cause and is causing many misfortunes to mankind. Among the main consequences of melting are: the low inundate parts of the world, and that so much water melt, sea level would rise about 5 meters under water leaving large tracts of land heavily populated in the world such as London and Bristol. It is noteworthy that the increase of a single meter at sea, endangering cause more than 17 million people. In turn, this would have serious economic and social consequences. Other studies paint a truly apocalyptic scenario: the masses of melt water, could alter the balance of ocean currents, stopping them altogether, implying stronger hurricanes, snowstorms more severe and more extensive and severe droughts. In short, the melting of the poles, is a current problem, which can lead to a crisis which would be hard to leave. So if you want to avoid the death and suffering of many people and species, it would have to create social awareness now, and thus eliminate one of the biggest threats of the earth. KEY IDEAS: It is mainly caused by global warming It is one of the most serious problems that threaten humanity. Many stocks with high population density would be flooded and therefore affected. It would cause stronger storms and increasingly common. The fauna of the area, for example, polar bears will disappear by the absence of ice caps. Solutions melting icecaps

This problem of melting polar ice is directly linked to the problem of global warming (as we might realize). Global warming has been an increase in global temperature of about 1 degree Fahrenheit during the last century and is likely to grow faster in the coming decades. (NRDC, n.d, 2008). This global warming has occurred largely because the ozone layer thickens increasingly due to contamination by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Taking into account the above it can be said that the melting polar occurs due to global warming. So to solve the problem of the melting of polar ice, we must first solve the problem of global warming, and this can be done in several ways: Usually burn fossil fuels to generate energy, to do this is released too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. But what should be done is to save energy by participating in these global campaigns blackouts. (NRDC, n.d, 2008). You can also save energy with new biofuel technologies (renewable energy) with which they can generate power without burning fuel many. (NRDC, n.d, 2008). As mentioned above another option to reduce global warming and the melting polar therefore is to use hybrid cars that are more efficient and less gases released into the atmosphere. (NRDC, n.d, 2008). Or you can also use more public transport such as buses. Another solution is to use fluorescent bulbs, they last 15 times longer than incandescent, which are what most people use. (NRDC, n.d, 2008). You can use less hot water, such as when washing dishes and washing clothes. (Wikipedia, 2010). Join recycling campaigns or at least contribute a little to the recycling community. In short, there are many ways in which we can help to reduce the speed of global warming and thus help slow the melting of the poles. This above all treasury could improve awareness campaigns in which present issues and possible solutions for society finds out what's going on and help improve the situation.
