BASIC LIVER AND GALL BLADDER CLEANSING PROGRAMME

TIME FRAME Cleansing the Liver and Gallbladder requires SIX days of preparation followed by 16 - 20 hours of actual cleansing.

SHOPPING LIST Apple Juice: 6 x 1 litre containers; or 6 litres of home juiced organic green apples. Homemade organic juice is the best - however, a good brand of commercial apple juice is fine, such as Coppella. Epsom Oral Salts - 4 tablespoons dissolved in three 200ml glasses of water Virgin Olive Oil, cold pressed - one half glass Fresh Pink Grapefruit or Fresh Lemon and Orange Combination - Enough to squeeze 2-3 glasses. THE GERSON DIET is the preferred diet. The Gerson diet is an organic, vegeterian, low sodium high potassium diet, which also includes a high intake of freshly made fruit and vegetable juices. ACTION Drink 1 litre of apple juice per day for a period of 6 days. The Malic acid in the apple juice softens the gallstones and helps them to pass through the bile ducts easily. Brush your teeth throughout the day to avoid any damage from the excess of acid. Drink slowly between meals throughout a day, but avoid drinking the juice just before, during and two hours after meals, as well as in the evening. This apple juice is in addition to your normal water intake, so take additionally at least 1 litre of water per day. During this 6-day period try avoiding cold foods or drinks as they chill the liver and reduce the effects of the cleanse. All foods should at least be warm, or at room temperature. Eat normally, but avoid animal proteins, especially dairy produce, to minimise a metabolic strain on the liver. For the same reason do not take any medication, vitamins or supplements unless absolutely crucial, as the liver needs to do as little as possible during this period. Taking animal proteins would most likely make you feel ill during the actual cleanse! Colon cleansing is important before and after the liver and gallbladder cleanse. Colonic Irrigation is the best way to achieve this. Alternatively, a Coffee Enema would be ok to start with, but it should not replace colonic irrigation at the end of the cleanse. th On the 6 day of drinking apple juice eat a very light breakfast. It is very important to avoid sugar, spice, milk, butter, oils, yoghurt, cheese, ham, eggs, nuts, pasties, and cold cereal. Taking fruits or fruit juice is the best option. For lunch, eat plain, cooked or steamed organic vegetables with white Basmati rice and a tiny bit of salt if you want. At 2 pm, stop eating and drinking completely.

CLEANSING PROTOCOL This starts on the evening of the 6 th day, at 6pm exactly. Add four tablespoons of Epsom salts into 600 ml of filtered water, and than divide it into four equal servings (150 ml each). Drink the first portion at 6pm. Using straws is a good idea to bypass the taste on the tongue, although you can improve the taste by adding a lemon juice to it. Brush your teeth afterwards and rinse out the mouth. 8.00 pm. Drink second portion. 9.30pm If by now you have not had a bowel movement, take a water enema - this will trigger the bowel movement. Please turn over.

9.45pm Thoroughly wash the grapefruits and squeeze them and remove pulp. You will need of a glass of juice. Pour the juice and the glass of olive oil into a pint jar. Close the lid tightly and shake the jar hard, until the solution is watery. Ideally you should drink this at 10pm. 10.00 pm Stand next to your bed, DO NOT SIT DOWN, and drink the concoction, if possible, possible in a straight position. Honey in between sips is aloud as it may help to chase the liquid down. Do not take more than 5 minutes to drink this concoction. Then LIE DOWN STRAIGHT AWAY. This is essential for helping to release the gallstones. Turn of the lights and lie flat on your back with 1-2 pillows propping you up, so that your head is higher than your abdomen. Dont speak and lie perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. Pay attention to your liver. You may even hear the gallstones travelling along the bile ducts like marbles. Drift off to sleep if you can. You may need to have a bowel movement in the night. 6.00 - 6.30am, the following morning: Upon waking, but not before 6 am, drink your third glass of Epsom Salts (if you feel thirsty, drink a glass of warm water before taking the salts). Rest, read, or just be quiet. If you are sleepy, you may go back to bed, although it is best that the body stays in the upright position. Most people feel absolutely fine at this point. 8 - 8.30am Drink your fourth and last glass of glass of Epsom salt. 10 - 10.30 am - You may drink freshly pressed fruit juice at this time. One half hour later you may eat one or two pieces of fresh fruit. One hour later you can eat regular but light food. By the evening and/or the next morning you should be back to normal, and feel the first signs of improvement. Continue to eat light meals during the following days. Remember, your liver and gallbladder underwent major surgery - albeit without the harmful side effects. Colonic irrigation is necessary after the liver cleanse to make sure that any stones caught up in the colon are removed safely. If they are not removed, they can cause irritation, infection, headaches and abdominal discomfort. A coffee enema and a water enema may do the trick however, but at this stage, there is nothing as good as a colonic irrigation. THINGS TO EXPECT Bloating, nausea and diarrhoea are commonly experienced during the first few days. You may also feel th nauseous during the actual cleanse on the 6 day, which is normal. Expect stones to appear throughout the th 7 day, in all colours and sizes. This whole procedure should be repeated every three months, until no more gallstones appear in your stools. Cleansing hepatobiliary system (liver and gall bladder) is risk free, providing all the directions are followed to the letter. The best results are achieved if this basic liver and gall bladder programme commences after completion of the three weeks Matrix detox. The basic liver and gall blader-cleansing programme should be ideally followed by additional three weeks of advance liver regenerative programme, which further builds up overall physiological integrity of the hepatobiliary system.
