Section A 1. Microsoft Office PowerPoint is used for presentations: presentations for kiosk, presentations for research, presentations for business meetings and so on. It is being used by millions of users worldwide each day. 2. You may click on the different programs opened on your Windows Taskbar, but to switch between programs using your keyboard, you need to press the ALT key and then press the Tab key. Hold the ALT key pressed down and then click on the Tab key that will switch you to a different program. 3. a. Three Search Engines are Google, Yahoo, and MSN or Windows Live. 1. First Open the Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox 2. Type in the web address: www.google.com or www.yahoo.com or www.msn.com 3. Type in the Search Query: ex: Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology then click Search 4. Choose the appropriate link from the list shown 8. a. You can click on New Account and make a new ID or account with that E-Mail provider. b. You have to log-in or sign-in for the provider. c. E-Mail providers will show you percentage used out of the total limit. d. If your inbox is full, delete some old E-Mail messages you do not need. e. Some providers, will put all incoming E-Mails from unknown senders into the Junk E-Mail box. Check the Junk E-Mail box to see if E-Mails from your friends are in there or not. 9. a. First check for viruses, and if no viruses are found then download it to your computer. b. Google is the most popular search engine. c. Search engine finds the documents or information that closely matches your search query on the World Wide Web. d. Sometimes clicking on the advertisements may install viruses or un-wanted programs to be installed on your computer. Thus, if you do not know the sender, do NOT click on the advertisements or links.
