T is now forty seven years since I first saw this colour, smelled this smell, tasted this taste, felt this sensation. Of course, I dont remember that day but, insistently, day by day, it comes back to me as if it were yesterday. This colour of such an intense blue, where it seems that the horizon doesnt exist, sometimes it melts into a natural embrace; I dont know if it is the embrace of a brother or a lover, I have always asked myself that. Sometimes I used to look at it, perplexed, in the way only children can look, and I would think: How far does it go? Does it have an end? Always in silence, because that is how one admires and enjoys lovely things. It was only broken by those endless childhood summers, where I so used to enjoy myself in this immense blue being, with that hustle and bustle which is so typical of the summer season. Daddy, Mummy, the water-melon is floating away! On many occasions I went to the house with its imposing clock, its many balconies and windows (I always thought they were doing very important things there). I hid among its nooks and crannies, always with my beloved family, some of whom had links to that house. I want a kebab and a drink from Judi! Alright, Paquito, once we have had a walk round! As I smelled the smell of the port, that sensation I remember so well and which lives on in me, I used to see the workers go

More than 30 restaurants, about ten golf courses and luxury hotels are just a few of the attractions on offer to tourists
ROUND ten golf courses, more than thirty restaurants and several four and five star hotels in a village with fewer than 6,000 inhabitants. This is the impressive tourism infrastructure of Benahavs, which is one of the most prosperous places in Mlaga province. The village is situated on the Costa del Sol between Marbella and Estepona, but it has no beach. Nor does it need one. Its territory stretches to within half a kilometre of the Mediterranean, but with its tourism resources and its lovely rural surroundings, Benahavs has enough attractions to satisfy those who want a place to relax and unwind, whether in good restaurants, playing golf or exploring the countryside. In recent years Benahavs has become a reference in the golf sector, something which is supported by its quality hotels. In fact, the First Lady of America, Michelle Obama, chose this charming municipality on the Costa del Sol for a summer holiday two years ago. Benahavs lies amid mountainous countryside in the foothills of the Serrana de Ronda and the Sierra Bermeja. It is home to some of the most unique enclaves in Mlaga province, such as the Angosturas of the Guadalmina river, narrow rocky areas which are very popular with adventure sports enthusiasts. The mountainous areas which surround the village, such as the Bermeja and Palmitera ranges, are part of the environmental attractions of Benahavs. Between the Angosturas of the Guadalmina river and the different peaks, with a bit of luck one can sometimes see some of the local fauna of this ecosystem. In the past decade, Benahavs has earned the nickname The dining room of the Costa del Sol.With more than thirty restaurants, the municipality has become consolidated as one of the most prosperous in Andaluca, as well as being a reference in the culinary world. In the village streets one finds bars and restaurants which offer everything from local tapas to more exotic fare, such as Thai cuisine. There are plenty of restaurants offer ing dishes which are typical of Mediterranean Andaluca, while others are dedicated to creating more innovative cuisine. This is a good opportunity to explore the centre of the village, which still retains elements of its Moorish past. One essential visit is to go up to the Montemayor castle, an Arab fortress with more than ten centuries of history. This walled precinct of Arab origin played a fundamental role in the era of the Taifa kingdoms because it was a strategic envlave in the battles between the Edrusita and Hammudi regimes, which governed the areas of Mlaga and Algeciras, respectively. From the Montemayor castle, there are stunning views over the Costa del Sol and the countryside. On clear days, the African continent can even be seen from this defensive bastion. The exhibition called El factor grotesco (The grotesque factor) opens at the Museo Picasso Mlaga on 22nd October and it will include works from various museums and private collections. Among the items on display will be paintings, sculptures, engravings, photographs, books, documents and films which have been created by talented artists from different parts of Europe. El factor grotesco covers a period in history which began in the Hellenistic period and finished at the end of the 20th century. Together, the works which have been selected for this exhibition explore some of the most relevant aspects of the evolution of the grotesque, and are those that express the artists interest in critical aspects of the interpretation of the world: the incongruous, the humorous, the satirical, the surprising, the macabre, the exaggerated and the monstrous. The literary and philosophical theories expressed by Mijail Batjin and Wolfgang Kayser constitute the theoretical body which determines the inclusion of the works selected for this exhibition. Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, Meret Oppenheim, Francisco de Goya, Man Ray and Gustav Dor are some of the approximately 50 artists whose works are included in this exhibition.

RUISE tourism has become in recent years one of the fastest growing segments in Andaluca, the seven ports of the community have received a total of 742 ships with more than 1.7 million passengers last year 2011. This is a very attractive segment for the region, due to spending by cruise passengers in the destinations they visit during their tour and the interest shown by segments such as cultural and urban tourism, food and shopping. Moreover, our offer fits perfectly to the demands of these travelers thanks to a wide variety of tourism products and strategically located ports that allow to visit in a short lapse of time any destination in the community. sengers and ships that choose Mlaga as a base port. So, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board is focused on the design of actions that lead to the promotion of this important segment. Embark on a cruise is a way of thinking about the holidays that is gaining more followers and to the Costa del Sol the growth of this segment is undenieble. This tourist segment is in a process of expansion and growth expectations of strong demand. However, we must not ignore that the future of this segment is determined by a number of factors to which attention must be given. They include the very segmentation of tourism, the phenomenon of multiholidays in families and the improvement in the quality of the scales. At a time when the segment is showing signs of such growth is to be applauded the creation of a specialized publication as Welcome to Mlaga from an industry that brings so many benefits to our destination.
LAGA has on tourism one of the main drivers of its economy. And for the cruise segment, the importance of the province is unquestionable as the port of Mlaga is the second largest of the peninsula and also it enjoys a continual growth in the number of scales, pas-

ELCOME to Mlaga magazine is continuing to make itself known in different enclaves of the city. In recent days, it has done precisely that on board two unusual cruise ships which had berthed in Mlaga. On September 27th copies of the magazine were distributed on board the MSC Magnifica, which will be a regular visitor to this Andalucan port, and the same was previously done on board the Wind Surf on September 9th. Both of these are unusual ships. The first, the MSC Magnifica, belongs to the Musica Class. It has 13 decks, is 293.8 metres in length, 59.64 metres high and weighs 93,330 tons. It can carry 3,223 passengers in its 1,259 cabins, 65 per cent of which have balconies. As well as being a luxury vessel, this ship offers an extraordinary variety of leisure acti-
vities and entertainment, and top quality materials. TheWind Surf is not a classic cruise ship and its name gives us a clue as to the type of vessel this is. It is a beautiful and enormous sailing ship which is spectacularly different to the rest, something which can be appreciated by going on to the stern and seeing the platform for aquatic sports, something unique on board a sailing ship, from which one can go out on jet skis, practise windsurfing and take trips on fast launches. There is another characteristic which makes this ship unique: its five masts. It is a Clipper type, very seaworthy, and the passengers form part of the crew. Maybe they will go in search of the West Indies and experience a type of journey that is reminiscent of glorious past times of sailing, although with all modern facilities and navigation and safety systems.

NTIL October 15th the Episcopal Palace in Mlaga is hosting the travelling exhibition about the object which has been the most studied in the history of Man, The Holy Shroud. This incredible exhibition analyses two unique objects which have passed scientific tests and have become recognised as items
which could have belonged to Jesus of Nazareth. One of these is the Holy Shroud of Oviedo, which allegedly covered Christs face after he was brought down from the cross. Forensic study has revealed and confirmed details of the death as it has been told throughout Christian history.
What is on display is a unique replica which has been created by the Spanish Sindonology Centre. The other item on display is the famous Holy Shroud which allegedly covered the body of Jesus of Nazareth and which, in some incomprehensible way, bears an imprint of his image. The image is anatomically correct, with no flaw whatsoever. The exhibition includes details which were not known by Man until the 20th century, but the formation of that image is still perplexing Man in the 21st century. Both objects are important because they relate to two key moments in the story of Christ: his death and
his possible resurrection. For the first time, both items have been compared and analysed together in an impressive forensic and scientific study which has produced surprising information about their possible bearer. Two exhibition rooms of forensic and scientific analyses provide details about the studies which have been carried out by leading experts and which, over more than 100 years, have provided extraordinary information about the holy shroud. In the forensic room, visitors can see an analysis using the latest 3D technology which provides information about aspects of the torture and death of the possible bearer of the shrouds (Jesus of Nazareth) from a point of view never seen before. Also on display in this room are forensic studies of the other key piece in the history of the holy shroud, which is kept in the city of Oviedo, Spain. In the scientific room, on display are the studies carried out by scientists to try to explain how the image could have formed on the holy shroud during what Christianity calls the resurrection, and according to science this inexplicable image could be due to an energy transmitted by a body. All this complex data has been faithfully documented and prepared for display, to increase understanding of the complex investigation which was carried out by a team of 33 scientists. Visitors can also see three other unique items. One is a life-sized reconstruction of the Jewish tomb in which Jesus of Nazareth could have been buried and which was destroyed in the year 70 A.D. It was rebuilt in accordance with studies carried out in the Holy Land by Augustinian archaeologist Florentino Dez, considered the best in this field. This is a truly unique piece. Also on display is a copy of the Holy Shroud which has been created for this exhibition by the laboratory in Turin. Its image and structure is in each and every detail an exact replica of the holy shroud. The original is only shown every 25 years; different factors of conservation have produced an alteration in the fabric and its composition and it cannot be subjected to continued display. And in the third place, the key piece, which was carried out by prestigious sculptor and professor Juan Manuel Miarro. He is a specialist in the shroud and has spent 12 years studying it; being an expert in the study of the face and body of the man on the holy shroud, using forensic and anthropomorphic techniques, his studies are considered to have produced an image closest to that of the man of the shroud. He has created the body of the man of the holy shroud, complete with forensic details; it is one of the most important items, is exclusive to this exhibition and, it would be no exaggeration to say, unique in the world. Whether they are believers or not, every visitor to this exhibition will find that it touches the soul, opens the heart and offers a challenge to the intellect.

LAGA, under the name of Malaka (referring to the salting of fish), was founded by the Phoenicians around 800 B.C. as a trading place, following the colonisation which commenced in 1100 B.C. with the founding of Gadir (Cdiz). After the Greek domination which lasted for over 70 years, Malaga was ruled by the Carthaginians but after the PunicWars, which ended in the year 202 B.C. with victory by the Romans, the city passed into their domain under the name of Flavia Malacita, and became an important point of transit with communications to other Roman enclaves in the Peninsula and other Mediterranean ports. The Roman Theatre dates back to this period and although it is small in size it is one of the oldest in the whole of Hispania. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Mlaga was affected by the great migrations and settlements of the Germanic peoples, specifically the Siling Vandals who imported the Arian beliefs from the Orient. In the early 8th century the collapse of the gothic monarchy began and from the coasts of North Africa the Moors penetrated the Iberian Peninsula. Mlaga fell under their control in the year 743 and became a flourishing city, surrounded by a wall with five large gateways. The city comprised numerous walled districts and was crossed from East toWest by a road which linked the port and the Alcazaba fortress with the interior of the walled precinct. Separate from the rest of the city were the districts of traders from Genoa and the Jewish district. In the 13th century Abderramn III built the Atarazanas Gate (which is now the entrance to the indoor market). Although in the 14th century the first attempts at a reconquest took place, it wasnt until the end of the 15th century that the Catholic Monarchs succeeded in taking the city. Mlaga was conquered on August 19th 1487 (the last city to be conquered was Granada in 1492).With this conquest, religious
communities became a fundamental part of urban growth, with the poorer districts on the outskirts. A grand square was created for the first time - the Plaza Mayor, which is today the Plaza de la Constitucin as well as La Victoria and La Trinidad convents. The 16th and 17th centuries were characterised by the crisis which resulted in the expulsion of the Moorish converts on one hand and the bad harvests, the floods caused by the overflowing of the Guadalmedina river and the epidemics on the other. In the 17th century the port was built, and it was enlarged later.Although work began on the Cathedral in 1528, it was not finished until the 18th century: well into the Baroque period. In the same era, the port was enlarged once again, recovering some of its previous activity. In the 19th century Mlaga began important urban development, with a clear separation of the industrial area from that of large mansions and hotels. Calle Marqus de Larios and La Alameda opened. The economic and political crises which were due to the tyranny of King FernandoVII (who allowed the unjust shooting ofTorrijos and his men, whose remains lie in the square which is now called Plaza de la Merced and is a venue for different activities and festivals) are the outstanding negative features of the 19th century. The first decades of the 20th century were not very favourable but from the 1960s Mlaga was the scene of the tourism boom in Spain and millions of people chose to spend their holidays in the city, while thousands of foreigners decided it was the ideal place to live. It became the fifth most important city in Spain and a modern European capital, enriched by its international diversity and mixture of cultures. Since 1992 Mlaga has had good road infrastructure with magnificent national connections and it has one of the most important international airports in Europe.

Co n q ui n y dnde los llev? -Muchas veces!

-Its strange, after so many years in Mlaga. Im starting a new experience with a new team in a new city, but Im very happy and calm about it. I like the club very much and everyone has been incredibly welcoming. Im very excited about what this season holds and Ill help the team in every way I can. -In December you will b e playing against your old team at the Martn Carpena stadium . Will that b e a spe c ial day? -From a sporting point of view it will be just another day, because a player has to concentrate and not be distracted by anything outside the game, but without a doubt from a sentimental point of view it will be a special match as Ill be coming as a visitor to what was my own stadium for so many seasons. -What do you think you will miss most about the city? -My people. My family and my friends are my pillars and their company is undoubtedly what I will miss most. On the other hand, Mlaga is my city and
I will miss all the places I used to go to normally in my everyday life, as well as the climate and having the sea so close, which I think is a pleasure for everyone in Mlaga. -What is it about this city that captivates local people as well as visitors? -Mlaga has a special brightness, which everybody notices. We see it just as much as the people who come from elsewhere. I dont know if it has something to do with the climate, the friendliness of the people or the city itself what I do know is that normally when people come to Mlaga they want to return or even come to live here. -Have you ever acted as a tourist guide with some of your former team members? If so, who, and where did you take them? -Many times! Normally colleagues from elsewhere go to those who are at home to ask about places to visit, which restaurants to eat in, etc I have always recommended the historic centre of the city in particular, Calle Larios Since they opened Muelle Uno I have also suggested that they go for a stroll through there, and some years I have also taken some colleagues to enjoy Holy Week. -What do you recommend that people see and do in Mlaga? -From a cultural point of view we are lucky enough to have two very important museums, the Picasso and theThyssen, which people shouldnt miss if they come to Mlaga. Then the historic city centre is very interesting, with the Alcazaba fortress, the RomanTheatre, the Cathedral.. away from the city, I think it is really nice to get to know places like Ronda, Con and La Axarqua. For leisure activities, the climate means that you can be outside nearly all year round, enjoying a terrace by the sea, strolling through the main streets and in the summer, of course, going to the beach.

REPES franceses, sushi japons, cous cous marroqu, burritos mexicanos...
RENCH crpes, Japanese sushi, Moroccan couscous, Mexican burritos These are all emblematic dishes of other countries and they can all be found in different restaurants which specialise in international cuisine in the Historic City Centre of Mlaga. Just a short stroll through the streets of this old part of the city reveals a wealth of cosmopolitan alternatives to traditional local dishes. Asia, America, Africa and Europe are well represented in restaurants which, in the majority of cases, offer an excellent quality-price ratio. One good example is cuisine from the Far East. In the rest of the city it is easy to find Chinese restaurants and examples ofWok cuisine, but in the heart of the city it is surprising to come across as many as three establishments specialising in Japanese cuisine. The oldest of these is the Zenart, which is not far from the Alcazaba fortress. It offers a great deal more than sushi, such as fresh sashimi, makis and the traditional salmon teriyaki. The Asako restaurant, situated in Calle Carretera, right in the city centre, also focuses on Japanese cuisine but with some examples of fusion with that of the Mediterranean. Its menu is very interesting, like those of the so-called Sushi Bars.
In the historic city centre there are two of these, (in Calle Strachan and Calle San Juan de Letrn) and they offer fast and cheap meals but without forfeiting quality. Arab cuisine is also very well represented, in restaurants and bars. The Pitta Bar in Calle Echegaray, and the Mediterranean, both in very central locations (beside Calle Beatas and Calle Granada), are the most economical alternatives but they are not the only ones on offer, as very close to these you will find the Samarkanda, a Lebanese restaurant with a carefully planned menu full of surprising flavours and aromas. Closer to the Port is Al-Yamal, a Moroccan business where you can try authentic cous cous. There are also some very interesting options from the American continent. Mexican cuisine is represented by a charming establishment opposite the church of Los Mrtires, El Tepito, or the Tacos in Calle Beatas. These are not the only ones, but they are the most famous among the people of Mlaga who go for tapas in the historic city centre. In districts such as La Malagueta and elsewhere you can find very prestigious Argentinian Grill restaurants, but in the city centre the alternatives are more modest, although equally as succulent. So, in Calle Beatas, El Farolito is the ideal place to try Argentinean meats with chimichurri, Argentinean spicy sausages and Provolone cheese. With rather more fusion and a great deal of creativity, the Tapeo de Cervantes in Calle de Crcer, the street which leads to the Cervantes Theatre, combines such items with delicious products from Mlaga and elsewhere. The result is truly superb. On this route of international gastronomy, sweet dishes are provided by the French and the Italians. The latter own various ice cream parlours, or gelateras, in the most central streets, while the French can boast a creperie and a cake shop (opposite theThyssen museum). In both cases, the quality is excellent.

The municipalities of Crtama (first Sunday of every month), Alhaurn el Grande (second Saturday of every month) Mijas (second Sunday of every month in Las Lagunas and the fourth Friday in La Cala de Mijas), Con (third Saturday of the month) and Mlaga (fourth Saturday of every month) take it in turns at weekends to be the venue for the sale of select and certified products: fruit and vegetables of the season, jams and preserves, olive oil, winesthey all have in common the fact that they are ecological. For the past few years the Guadalhorce Ecolgico association has been intensively promoting their sale at the-
se itinerant markets, where customers can sample and test for themselves the quality of these types of products. The aim of ecological production is to obtain top quality food items while also protecting the environment, respecting the biological cycles and without the use of chemical products or genetically modified organisms. There are numerous reasons to consume them: they have a higher content of nutrients, they are healthier and safer and they favour biodiversity and the improvement of the rural landscape, among other advantages. For these and other reasons, La Carta Malacitana association recommends the consumption of these ecological products, whether they are bought at these itinerant markets or in shops. Without a doubt, they are excellent souvenirs for the people who visit us.

From here, you can even see the famous beaches of Torremolinos and the Sierra de Mijas.
OTHER DATA OF INTEREST
It is no accident that the Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs all chose a vantage point on the Gibralfaro hill to watch over the city. From this peak you can see not only what in those times were the urban settlements of those civilisations but also the surrounding area, from the Mediterranean sea to the different mountainous enclaves which were sheltered by the city. This situation used to be fundamental to prevent hostilities; today it has become one of the best viewing points in southern Europe. Curiously, it should be pointed out that the old Phoenician precinct had a lighthouse which gave its name to the hill. The fortress was enlarged and converted into a castle by the Nasrid KingYusuf I. Later, the castle was taken by the Catholic Monarchs. After the siege, King Fernando I used it as a residence, while his wife Isabel preferred to live in the city.

What captivated me about Mlaga was its brightness
Martine Grinfas knew as soon as she arrived that she would live in Mlaga.
-No, aqu me encanta vivir y aqu me quedo.
-I believe so. I felt that the city had adopted me and that it wouldnt take me long to adapt because I quickly realised that it wasnt difficult to surround yourself with friendly, open people. -Was it difficult to get used to the language? -A little, because speaking or getting by in Spanish is one thing but understanding Andalucan is another. Nevertheless, in less time than you imagine, you get used to the Andalucan accent, which to me is full of sensuality. -Is it complicated for a foreigner to find a job or set up a business here? -I dont know about setting up a business, because I have never thought of doing that. When it comes to finding a job, I have to say that I was lucky because in a very short time I found work doing something I like. -T he c usto m s he re are ve ry different to those in your own country. What has been most difficult to get used to? -I found it hard to get used to the volume of noise in the bars and restaurants. Here, people have voices and they use them. In France, people whisper in public places. It also seemed strange to me to go into a place and have to ask Who is the last in the queue? Nor was I used to shops closing between two oclock and five oclock, when everything comes to a halt. -And what has been easiest to get used to? -Mealtimes.There is a difference of two hours between France and Spain, but I found it easy to adapt to these times because they fit in with the lifestyle in Mlaga, where people make more use of the evenings than they do in France. -Have you thought about leaving? -No, I love living here and this is where Im staying. -Finally, what is your favourite dish? -Its hard to answer that because I love a lot of the food. The fried fish in the beach restaurants, the Porra Antequerana soup, gazpacho, and above all Iberian ham accompanied by a good local red wine.

In both cases, those present can see how even today the sale of animals is sealed with a handshake and not by a written contract. At the same time, the San Dionisio Fair also takes place in Ojn, a village which is known among other reasons for being one of the places of residence of famous singer Julio Iglesias. A few days later, between October 12th and 16th, San Pedro de Alcntara (Marbella) celebrates its Fair. In October the climate on the Costa del Sol is very pleasant for walking, as it is neither hot nor cold. For this reason, walkers from all over the world take part in the Marbella 4 DaysWalking event. The historic town centre is the departure point for the 20 and 30 kilometre routes which pass through the town, the countryside and the beach, between 11th and 14th October. On the last day, the walk returns by Va Gladiolo to the Avenida del Mar, where crowds of people wait to applaud those who have completed the challenge. Esa fusin, que se conoce desde hace algunos aos como Maroween, consigue unir en una singular fiesta a nerjeos y extranjeros. this part of the world because the whole province celebrates All Saints Day, a tribute to the deceased which is maintained as a tradition in numerous inland villages. Many of these have very unusual cemeteries, especially Casabermeja, a village which is about 20 minutes from Mlaga. At this time of year the local people whitewash and decorate the unusual niches and vaults of the village cemetery. The beginning of November is also linked with chestnuts, which have been cultivated for centuries in some parts of the Serrana de Ronda and La Axarqua. Some villages celebrate Chestnut Festivals and feast on roasted chestnuts on November 1st (Ojn does this on the 4th). On this occasion those who attend the event are presented with roasted chestnuts to eat, like those which are cooked on temporary street stalls in different parts of the city. On this day, places such as Alcaucn also give out sweet potatoes and mantecados, the traditional Christmas sweet cakes. But without a doubt the most unusual event is the one that is celebrated in the village of Maro (Nerja), which is a combination of the traditional chestnut roasting festival and the British tradition of Halloween. . This fusion, which has become known as Maroween, results in an unusual festival which is enjoyed by the people of Nerja and foreigners alike.

The estuary of the Guadalhorce river: Surprising marshland in the city of Mlaga
About two kilometres before it reaches the sea, the Guadalhorce river divides into two channels
Ricardo Pastor goons which are situated between the two estuaries. The vegetation that predominates in the area is mostly reeds (Pragmites australis) and salt cedar (Tamarix sp). Some wild olives grow here, as does bamboo and recently a good colony of castor-oil plants (Ricinus communis), which are considered to be an invasive species. But what makes this area even more unusual and interesting is that, on such a small piece of land, more than 250 species of birds can be seen throughout the year, with the number even reaching 80 different species in one day during migratory periods.

These 120 hectares give the Paraje Natural de la Desembocadura del Guadalhorce (Natural Area of the Guadalhorce Estuary) its name. It forms part of the Network of Protected Areas of Andaluca. Situated to the west of Mlaga city, one can say that this is one of the few green zones that remain on the Costa del Sol.The entry to this Natural Area is via the Guadalmar urbanisation, which is accessed by an exit signed San Julin/Guadalmar on the A-7 highway, between Mlaga city and Torremolinos. The Wild Duck (Anas platyrhynchos) is often seen coming into land on the lagoons, and there are numerous Northern Shovelers (Anas clypeata) and Grey Herons (Ardea cinerea). During the breeding period, there are many Little Bitterns, Herons and the lively Common Stilts (Himantopus himantopus). Meanwhile, in the breeding huts it is easy to see Black-necked Grebes (Podiceps nigricollis), Gannets (Morus bassanus) and the pretty Common Spoonbills (Platalea leucorodia). Nearly all year round on the estuary one can see various birds of prey such as the Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), often eating a fish while perched high up in the trees.
The Booted Eagle (Hieraaetus pennatus) and theWestern Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus) are other birds of prey who inhabit these wetlands. Other, less frequent species which can be seen are the Purple Moorhen (Porphyrio porphyrio), the impressive and rare Imperial heron (Ardea purprea), the elusive Black Stork (Ciconia nigra) and the Pied Avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta) with its unusual curved beak.
ITINERARY
There is a circular route of 4.5 kilometres, which is well signposted and which passes along the almost virgin Guadalmar beach. There are several viewing huts situated in strategic places, and it is well worth stopping here to watch the birds. As well as these, there is a viewing point on the breakwater. It is therefore recommended to take a camera and binoculars and, above all, to keep silent along the route.
