Key words: Improvement in time efficiency, Image matching.

Introduction:
Computer vision is the science and technology of machines that see. As a scientific discipline, computer vision is concerned with the theory for building artificial systems that obtain information from images. The image data can take many forms, such as a video sequence, views from multiple cameras, or multi-dimensional data from a medical scanner. As a technological discipline, computer vision seeks to apply the theories and models of computer vision to the construction of computer vision systems. Firstly we should be focuses on image capture and image storing; Image Capture is an application program that enables users to upload pictures from digital cameras or scanners which are either connected directly to the computer or the network. And many applications store images permanently as files. For example, drawing applications store pictures, spreadsheet applications store charts, CAD applications store drawings, and so on. If you are writing an application that stores a bitmap image in a file, you should use

the bitmap file format described in Bitmap Storage. To store a bitmap in this format, you must use a bitmapinfoheader, a bitmapv4header, or a bitmapv5header structure and an array of rgbquad structures, as well as an array of palette indexes. Previous work focuses on image matching which measures the degree of similarity between two image sets that are superimposed on one another. Image matching is an effective auxiliary location method for the precise guide weapon system. The image sensor of image matching system is used to real-time gather the object image around target The performance of the image matching system is vitally interrelated to the geographic and conditions (Ground image characteristics) of the operation region. So the basic operation condition of the image matching system and matching region selection in the special geographic conditions is regarded as the main contents to study. And point out principle thought and method of selecting image matching area according to these parameters. Image matching is one of most important problems in close-range photogrammetry. In order to improve the speed of image matching. Image matching is considered the solution of varies problems in computer vision such as object recognition, three dimension reconstruction, object tracking. Image matching technique is an important branch in image processing. It is widely used in many domains, such as image analysis, object tricking, pattern recognition and moving analysis. Image matching is an important task. There are many available methods for occluded image matching, e.g., Hausdorff distance and wavelet transform based matching. Image matching is one of the most important and challenging subjects in digital photogrammetry, remote sensing, and computer vision.

Aim:
The goal of the research will be to understand existing algorithm of image matching & analyze for improvement in time efficiency.

Objectives:
To learn the study how to store and capture images. To learn the increase time efficiency of image matching, which find out the results very soon. To learn technique and analyze algorithms of time efficiency in image matching.

Research Methodology:
First phase of my project I am studying of research papers and previous work focuses on image capture, image storing, and image matching and find out the conclusion of each research papers. Second phase of my project working of algorithms and improve the speed of image matching. I read first paper Research on Artificial Target Image matching find out from this paper artificial target encoded and non-coded. I read second paper Hierarchical Image Matching in Parallel Virtual Machine Environment finds out from this paper performance evaluation. A hierarchical image matching scheme has been proposed in our previous work, which uses a guided searching scheme to quickly lead a matching process to the most likely portion of the target image. This scheme can speed up the matching processing.

Work Plan:
Individual work in the research project and each task should begin and be completed between time duration that provided for research project. I am daily working in this topic. That research project will not be exceeds 12 months. Then fix the dates (in weeks) indicating the period in which each task will have to be carried out and calculate the number of working days required to complete each task.

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED Collect data Pre-test study of research papers and learn about the image recognition Analyze data and Write report Submitted synopsis Increases the time efficiency of image matching.

START DATES END DATE From 21 Sep 2009 1 Oct 2009 15 Oct 2009 30 Oct 2009 From 5 Nov 2009Till 25 April 2009 Till 10 Oct 2009 24 Oct 2009 Till 30 Sep 2009

Expected Results:
We will be learn about image matching, similarities, increase the time efficiency of image matching which we can be find out the result vary soon of recognized images.
