Studies have shown that a graft is less likely to become infected or develop complications such as hematoma or seroma formation when properly incorporated with collagen forming connective tissue.1, 2 That is why Atrium has taken a biological approach to graft design. Advanta VS has an exclusive 60/20 thru-pore design that results in the strongest, best handling one-piece design available.
Kink and Compression Resistance

Advanta VS allows quicker, more rapid tissue ingrowth and long term creates a more biological implant. The unique architecture allows more collagen forming connective tissue to penetrate and biologically remodel the implant. Histological analysis of Advanta VS grafts have demonstrated angiogenesis within the wall of the graft. Advanta VS exhibits a more natural vascularized network, a biological response not reported to occur with Inside conventional 20 - 30 micron PTFE structures. 200X

Advanta VS grafts incorporate an exclusive feature called Vari-Stretch. This unique feature allows compression and elongation of the PTFE graft during implantation for convenient length adjustment. Unlike traditional stretch technology, which tends to have either too little or too much tension, only Vari-Stretch allows Tension Free adjustment with almost no recoil. This characteristic is ideal in areas where proper sizing is essential and tension must be avoided.
Easier Sizing - Less Tension

Advanta VS PTFE grafts are now available with the Slider GDS (Graft Deployment System). Atriums innovative Slider GDS is the first pre-packaged graft tunneling system available. Its graft protection sleeve and easy to use attachment system provides faster insertion of a graft into a tunnel, in a no skin contact fashion.

A well-known issue in the construction of an anastomosis is the proper length determination of the prosthesis and the need to avoid tension, and/or Less Recoil excessive length. After compression and expansion of Advanta VS there is less than 1/7 the tension value of traditional stretch grafts with almost no recoil.* Advanta VS offers tension free length adjustment.
