Job Description & Person Specification Job Title: Salary: Hours of Work: Responsible to: Responsible for: Job Purpose: To support and encourage participation in representation work of local voluntary and community sector groups, both neighbourhood based and communities of interest at a strategic borough-wide Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) level. Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Provide information to the various networks, such as XXX Consortium, XXX, XXX and voluntary and community groups about the work of XXX, the XXX and encourage groups and individuals to participate in that work, with the view of increasing the involvement of those who are under represented. 2) Carry out outreach work across the borough but with a focus on groups in the most disadvantaged areas and to identify barriers to participation for both neighbourhood based groups and communities of interest and seek creative solutions to those barriers. 3) Assist with the recruitment and selection of representatives using the existing selection process. 4) Assist voluntary and community groups to build their capacity to participate in the work of the XXX. 5) Signpost groups to other XXX staff for other specific support needs e.g. constitutions etc. and to other appropriate development agencies such as XXX. 6) Maintain links with appropriate funders e.g. XXX, XXX and XXX and disseminate information/contacts to groups. 7) Identify and address any training/support needs groups/individuals may have in order to engage with representation work and where possible find ways of meeting those needs. 8) Support representatives in claiming appropriate expenses. 9) Maintain effective liaison with appropriate partners operating in the area and establish other links to best serve/support the empowerment and learning needs of groups/individual representatives. 10) Contribute to effective publicity, marketing and information about representation work through XXXs website, newsletter and other media. 11) Monitor and evaluate the work and contribute to the monitoring of XXXs Business and Strategic plans and where appropriate attend staff and Board meetings. 12) Work in a self-servicing capacity.
