XXX JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Salary: Hours of Work: Responsible to: Responsible for: HEAD OF SECTOR DELIVERY To be determined 35 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to carry out the duties of this post. Chief Executive (XXX) Administrator, Financial Services staff, Volunteer Centre staff, Procurement Services staff including HR, Legal support, Training staff including XXX

Job Purpose: To manage XXX services to support the Voluntary and Community Sector in the Borough. To manage services within the Service Delivery Team to meet contractual targets, outputs and outcomes. As part of the Senior Management team to contribute to policy development and implementation, and to management decision making and organisational development within XXX.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1. To manage the Service Delivery function, including managing staff in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures and ensuring that financial management systems are robust and adhered to. 2. To work with other Senior Managers to keep up to date with policy developments and improve the support and delivery of services to meet members and the sectors needs in the areas of: a. Information and Advice - to ensure that the sector is apprised of appropriate information and given the necessary advice in a timely way including involvement in sector networks and specific membership events b. Training to improve the identification of training needs within the sector and the co-ordination and provision of appropriate training c. Quality Standards to support the development of quality standards for the sector d. Volunteering to support the establishment and development of a Volunteer

Centre within XXX e. Performance Management to support the development and implementation of a performance management framework f. Finance to support groups within the sector putting in place appropriate financial management systems. g. Procurement to support groups in the sector in the bidding for and delivery of commissioned services. h. Human Resources to support groups implement policies and procedures, and adopt best practice in the areas of HR and employment law. 3. To keep up to date with and maintain an overview of voluntary and community sector (VCS) activity in XXX and ensure that XXX identifies and responds to the needs of the sector. 4. Contribute to the strategic, operational and financial planning processes within XXX, including membership of the Board, Executive and Staffing and Premises Sub Groups as appropriate. 5. To promote the value and role of the VCS, with the Chief Executive and other Senior Managers and advocate on its behalf at a district, regional and where appropriate national level. 6. Ensure team members have individual action plans and monitor their achievement taking action where appropriate. 7. Ensure any information which is fed into the XXX website is relevant, and of a high standard. 8. Produce and present reports internally and to other relevant bodies as required. 9. Contribute to income generation activities. 10. Attend and participate in external events on behalf of XXX, taking a lead role where appropriate. 11. Deputise in the absence of the Chief Executive. 12. To assist in the development, review and implementation of borough wide policies and strategies for the XXX voluntary and community sector. 13.
