Introduction
Citrix XenServer is server virtualization that makes datacenters more agile and efficient through faster application delivery, higher levels of availability and improved utilization of IT resources. Its an enterpriseready virtualization platform that contains all the capabilities required to create and manage a virtual infrastructure and deliver cost-effective server consolidation and business continuity. It reduces datacenter costs by transforming static and complex datacenter environments into more dynamic, easy to manage "delivery centers" by including features such as live migration, shared storage support, centralized multi-node management and resource pooling.
Citrix XenServer is a complete, managed server virtualization platform built on the powerful Xen hypervisor. Xen technology is widely acknowledged as the fastest and most secure virtualization software in the industry. XenServer is designed for efficient management of Windows and Linux virtual servers and delivers cost-effective server consolidation and business continuity Citrix XenCenter is the Windows-native graphical user interface for managing Citrix XenServer, there is no Linux version. Full feature include: full virtual machine installation, configuration and lifecycle management; Access to VM consoles: VNC for installation-time, Xvnc for graphical displays on Linux, and Remote Desktop for Windows and many more. The Xen hypervisor, the powerful open source industry standard for virtualization, offers a powerful, efficient, and secure feature set for virtualization of x86, x86_64, IA64, ARM, and other CPU architectures. It supports a wide range of guest operating systems including Windows, Linux, Solaris, and various versions of the BSD operating systems. XenServer is the enterprise-ready, cloud-proven virtualization platform that contains all the capabilities required to create and manage a virtual infrastructure. It is trusted by demanding organizations to run the most mission critical applications and used by the largest clouds and xSPs. XenServer.
