FLUSHING PROCEDURE

A.M.S
Purpose:
This procedure outlines the flushing process requirements, to ensure that the piping systems are clean from debris or unwanted items and the integrity of the system is proven.
Scope:
This procedure covers inspection activities for cleaning of .piping system after assembly and completion of testing -Project Specification .P4-0000-00001-10056-9 .10056-9-3PS-P000-00001 .10056-3PS-C000-00004 10056-3PS-US-00001 Codes and Standard . ASME B 31.1 NFPA 24 Precautions: a. If at any time during the implementation of this procedure, any parameter or condition is out of acceptable limits and cannot be readily corrected, the operation will be terminated and the system left in a safe condition. b. Any unusual and partial test completion or other information pertinent to the operation should be documented. c. The test engineer will limit personal in the area to those performing test or authorized witness .All other will remain outside the test area as defined by the test engineer.

f) Flushing shall be done in the presence of Site Supervisor and to be witnessed by QC inspector and Clients Representative.
g) Ensure the flushing source supplying the head is available. h) Ensure that flushing fluid is circulated through all portions of the system.

i) Piping system shall be flushed with clean water with a velocity of not less than 1.2 times the normal operation velocity.
j) strainer shall be installed at the end of piping system and leave it in its place until cleaning has been accomplished. k) After flushing, checks shall be carried out to ensure all non-return valves are still defeated. Swing checks valves are opened and set all ball valve at half open position. l) The Flushing Report shall be prepared by QC inspector upon completion of the flushing.
