Curriculum Vitae 2013

D.O.B 11.08.72

To Whom It May Concern: I would like to express my interest in potential positions in Occupational Hygiene or in Asbestos Abatement Works, Site Surveying, Construction and Building Codes, Auditing & HAZMAT Remediation/Biological Waste Control Measures, as well as being open to companies that offer further education in Occupational hygiene graduate Diploma and or similar such as a Masters in Applied Science to further advance my existing knowledge base. I am currently employed at Risk Strategies (RS) working primarily in OH&S compliance and Essential Safety Measures (Fire Safety & Emergency Evacuation Procedures); my additional role is as the appointed Asbestos Specialist to carry out audits on companies/corps/small businesses and private residencies going into receivership/liquidation, requiring an up- to-date Asbestos register prior to handover for Auction. I find Asbestos surveying/auditing here very rewarding as I am responsible for an honest report and have much more control over decision making, however sadly this work is not constant and relies on companies going bankrupt/entering into receivership, so much of my work-load is in safety measures, meaning I spend a vast majority of the time in the office and I now realise that I really miss the site work and interactions with stakeholders as well as seeing the end result of a development that I can proudly say I helped monitor and supervise. Prior to RS I was employed at EnviroProtect (EP) where I was responsible for Quality Control of procedures and peer reviewing of reports prior to issuing as well as the appointed HS rep at Toyota Altona (TMCA) as a Scientific Technical Officer carrying out air monitoring and sampling for multiple on site projects. In addition I also managed the removal works of levels 6 through to 12 i.e.- Phases 1, 2 and 3 to completion at 367 Collins St (Optus Towers) along with various other major sites on construction, industrial, soil remediation developments as well as smaller residential and commercial sites. I started my professional career with Noel Arnold and Associates (NA&A) as an OHSE Consultant and the primary Hygienist for the Myer Bourke Street Re-Development as well as the Arts Centre South Precinct ReDevelopment. These roles taught me invaluable skills in stakeholder interactions sitting on CFMEU safety meetings with daily site safety walks and constant monitoring for air quality (Asbestos, Lead, and PID) and reporting results to site supervisors and maintaining air monitoring results for site contractors. Although it seemed I was thrown in the deep end at NA&As, I also feel it gave me many opportunities to learn how to deal with, in some cases, very delicate subject matter (i.e- Asbestos/Hazmats) in as way that taught me skills to transfer information to people to alleviate any concerns through communications of factual information and educational tools via presentations. I would like to make it clear that I have no animosity to Risk Strategies in fact they have been nothing but supportive and generous in both training and sharing of information, however I feel I am better suited to site based work. I am truly appreciative of the skills I have gained from these companies and I look forward to strengthening these skills within a company that offers structured training within the Occupational Hygiene Sector as well as the potential to earn the opportunity to learn more about principal consultancy and Project Management. In closing I am purposely sourcing interstate as I want both the challenge of a new city and the opportunities from a new company that offers greater room to grow in the industry, However Melbourne opportunities are also very much welcomed. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. Yours Truly Jason Whitehall

Developed a major business model for a sustainable aquaculture enterprise. Was chosen to enter the business model for selection to apply for funding via a program that Swinburne University was running in conjunction with Latrobe University; however I decided that going on to Deakin University for further study was more important. Developed a management plan for a sustainable enterprise including conceptualizing a working 5 year plan of the proposed business showing how future growth would replace the initial loss by targeting clientele and marketing via numerous outlets within the aquacultural organization such as using feed (fish meal) from pest species such as carp and redfin, smaller ponds too shallow for

trout to enter yet enough for another pest species (Mosquito Fish) providing yet another food source. The poundages also incorporated a series of 6 ponds not just for filtration but for other sources of revenue, E.g.: Primary pond planted with Lotus lilies available for sale as well as taking up nutrients via macrophytic luxury uptake (stems and roots) cleansing water for the next pond which had both lilies and ornamental Goldfish for sale, (another financial gain), this continued through swales and substrate filtration throughout and onto the trout and Fresh Water Salmon ponds where these fish where certified organic and smoked prior to sale aiming at niche market client based with high returns due to high quality of product. (Note: this development plan was the above mentioned Swinburne University/Latrobe University funded program as I received 98% for this unit.

EXPERIENCE
OH&S - Essential Safety Measures Consultancy & Appointed Asbestos Specialist | Risk Strategies (RS) August 2012 Present
Appointed Asbestos Specialist for auditing of properties in receivership including the Leisure Inn Chain of hotels in Tasmania (Pennyroyal, Macquarie and Woolmers). Auditing of smaller properties such as a private sheep shearing property in Boorowa (Inland Rural N.S.Ws) as well as many of the churches for the Anglican Church Diocese. Essential Safety Measures Inspector/Consultant carrying out site inspections for fire safety compliance and Emergency evacuation Procedures for my main client The Anglican Church Diocese of Victoria. SKILLS
Working at RS has allowed me to gain more confidence in the corporate sector as opposed to the site work and construction industry often associated with Asbestos Abatement works, so I feel that I know have the not only the confidence to deal with union representatives and appointed HR representatives but also higher management personnel who I often found intimidating prior to working at RS.
