Students will continue to learn about why we vote and what their rights and responsibilities are as a voter.

Students will learn why it is important to register to vote and they will fill out a register application.

Students will take a closer look at how the candidates run their campaigns.

Remember two commercials, one from each campaign candidate. Print the three worksheets for each student.

Notes
Students will continue working on the campaign teams, but now they will be researching the issues at stake in the election. What they find will be put on their posters and presented to the class.
MONDAY week #2
Print off current events involving the election for each group. Provide a list of appropriate websites in which students can research their issues and candidates.
For this final lesson, groups will present their posters, and then the students will explore what they think about the candidates and why they think that way. They have already researched the candidates and issues, and they have analyzed how the campaigns are being run. They will sort through all of this information to develop a logical argument for why one candidate is better than the other, which they will articulate in an editorial endorsement. Then they will hold a mock election.
