Hebrews Chapter 4 Commentary

General Theme of Hebrews Chp 4:
Seventh day rest is by find grace at the throne of grace in heaven; Above and beyond all of the sides wars of divided heavens on high.
Hebrews 4, with five mentions of "therefore", seems to begin a forward (us-ward) focus on "the seventh" [day] as being above and beyond both the bwd "time past" and the fwd "last days" noted in Hebrews 1; As if to say look above division and beyond (plural) last days, above and beyond a divided GOD (Majesty on high) both spake and spoke law vs law and law vs grace to both <--them and us--> by both prophets and Son. For even when being right of law vs law or of law vs grace it is still as division and not peace: not rest, but unrest. There remaineth therefore a seventh day rest: peace and not divided to the people of God; Individually and collectively. For if Jesus had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day. So Hebrews Chapter 4 begins a focus on entering the undivided rest (peace) of higher God in higher heaven thereof the seventh [day]; Such rest being a ceasing of "all" divisional law vs law and law vs grace "works" (plural). So look higher than the unrest (division and not peace) of plural divided "heavens" thereof a divided GOD "on high" and the new "high" priest thereof: Christ Jesus; Having been told to "mind not high things": Romans 12:16 and "be not highminded": Romans 11:20 & 1Timothy 6:17, as highminded listed among unholy things: 2Tim3, which is as doubleminded: unstable: James 1, rather than Christ minded: settled. Later on in Hebrews 7:26 we'll look at the topic of "higher than the heavens".

Hebrews Chp 4 concludes God's throne is "the throne of grace" (not law, nor grace + we'll learn law had no mercy ("all who died under Moses' grace + law (added) makes grace "no more grace": Romans 11:6. There's Seven Revelatory Things About The Word of God in Hebrews 4:12. At throne of grace only mercy is obtainable, and help in time of need: Hebrews 4:16. ..................................................................
law). Note: later in Hebrews law died without mercy"), and

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therfore fear, lest, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Commentary: Let us therefore fear? ... No! God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind: 2Timothy 1:7. Fear speaks of a fall: Hebrews 10:31, into plural hands. Fall speaks of fallen from grace to law: Galatians 5:4. The message is not to fear one another (perfect love hath no fear); Rather the message is "love one another as I have loved you". When taken in context with "give more earnest heed" in Hebrews 2, the point being made here is: unless all enter, none enter, since "God hath no respect of persons" and it's always all or none at all with "that God" (never some only as many deceived ass u me in err). So any who mingle grace + law, new agreeth not with old: Luke 5:36, or if any still divisional by law vs law or law vs grace, then still a "come short" of the true rest of "God [is] a Spirit" (not a Ghost); For God can't lie(law) nor die(law), neither tempts nor can be tempted. As for the "rest" of the "Holy Ghost", it's death; or the first of two reconcileds noted in Romans 5. Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it]. Here we note the word (law) which was preached to them did not profit them. The because is lack of faith. In Romans we learn "whatsoever is not of faith is sin", and in Galatians we learn "the law is not of faith". So what was preached to "them" of such before/after them/us was law: sin and death (which didn't profit them). It may help readers to note there are two gospels: allegorically this / that. And in the same fashion as two blesseds, and as if child/man, the first imputes sin, the second does not impute sin. To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself not imputing their trespasses unto them (2Cor 5:19). So, when it comes to no profit and profit "withal", the second of twain profiteth them. As it says later on in Hebrews 10: He taketh away the first that he might establish the second. For the first was faulty (Heb 8): so old (law expired l-o-n-g ago) now it's ready to vanish, and shall vanish (1Cor 13). Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Entering into rest is simply entering into the peace of pure grace; for neither law nor grace + law are peaceable (James 3) since law worketh wrath witch produces fear hath torment, and blessed + cursed = accursed (not peaceable nor restful). For grace + law is not only a perversion of both law and grace, but also doublemindead (unstable). As for "works"(plural) being "finished" from the foundation of the world, we find such "finished" (utterly dissolved without a trace) happening after the sixth day and prior to the seventh (Genesis 2:1), and in accordance with "let there be light" (not darkness, nor light + darkness). And on the seventh day there is no mention of evening + morning, as six other days had. Hence, as converted Peter says when comparing sabbaths, it's the "day of God" we should look for, haste unto, since the day of the LORD is a black sabbath John imagined.

Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. Note it says "all" his "works", which is allegorical for all grace + law is to cease in order to have rest (peace) the seventh day (also the third day), which is as saying all law, everything written in stone and in ink is to be "done away" (2Cor 3). Solomon also noted in Ecclesiastes such grace + law was "all" vanity and vexation of spirit; so unless all law is abolished we cannot have peace, because contrary things (law vs grace) cannot coexist in peace, and a little leaven (law) leaveneth the whole lump (like a little cancer kills the whole body if not removed. Hebrews 4:5 And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest. The only rest of law is death, the dead end of grace + law = life + death; and if any die, even one, it is as all die, for all are one, and all of one. So under law: in Adam all die, and under grace: in Christ all live by dying to the law instead of dying by such grace + law = life + death = dead end. Note also it is "this again" (of this/that), only the first of first/last, the begin of begin/end, the law of law/grace. Here we have the Ghost of Ghost/Spirit, the first of two Holys. For the last of twain: "God [is] a Spirit", would never say "if", being certain of the end (of law) from the beginning. In the same manner Jesus did not say if thou art converted to Peter, but rather "when thou art converted". Conversion is not optional as many ass u me in err, for their is no option in the the immutable will of God: "I will have mercy (grace), and not sacrifice (law)"... so none perish. Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: The only people who are not entering therein the peace of Christ, the rest of God (and thereby hindering all from entering) are the "some" only folk, those Paul satirically called the "some"what; And it remains for some to enter so all may enter. Unbelief is simply an allegory for grace + law, not believing "my grace is sufficient" and adding law to grace, unaware it adds death to life, and for all if any do it. So in a manner of speaking Hebrews (plural) are stonewalling probate of the will of God. Paul is Hebrew, was even a Pharisee, but clarifies he became a Hebrew (one) of Hebrews (twain). Hebrews 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To-day, after so long a time; as it is said, To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. This "again", and as if limiting eternity, darkening light. We should be hearing one voice of one spirit, not the voices of spirits. And after so l-o-n-g a time (4,000 yrs Hebrews tried and failed to attain righteousness of the law: Rom 9:31, because there is no right-eousness of such left-eousness). The evidence seems to make it "evident" that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God. Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. A tricky verse, with tricky wording, revealing Jesus did not give them rest(peace), but rather division and not peace (Mt 10:34; Lk 12:51; Jn 7:43). Jesus, of Jesus Christ, can also be allegorical for the King of the Jews: Law. So if law had given them rest, or if death had given them peace, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. The point being made is that neither being right of Law vs Law (is as Loser vs Loser) nor being right of Law vs Grace (still gives place to partiality) is true peace. Rather only pure grace void of law is true peace, since only pure grace is merciful: mercy void of sacrifice, and thereby peace void of confusion; or we could say forgiveness void of torment.

Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. The best is yet to come of good better best; for what was good for them, and better for us, still only for "some", not all. Peace, rest thereof, comes when all realize God hath given "us" (not them, nor them + us) the victory through "Jesus Christ" (not Jesus, nor Christ Jesus); which not only speaks of first/last but also of going "through" the cross to risen and seated with Christ at the right hand of God. So it seems there is an ever increasing cry for just us, since there is no just us in us + them, and God knows you cannot get any true rest or have any real peace with in-laws around (joke). Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his. Paul speaks of having ceased from grace + law, counting all law, self-rightesousness thereof, as dung. For being found "in him" is defined as not having any righteousness of your own (no law in your grace): in him there is no sin (no law in His grace). Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Here we seem to have a contradiction of laboring to rest, but rather the labour (promoting awareness) is to enter into "that" rest of this/that, the first rest of first/last being not restful but potential extinction; and the uncertainty of such unbelief is anything but peaceable. Note it also speaks of any "man" falling, which is allegorically the whole of "man" kind falling if any remain the "child" of "hell" of such child/man scenario in Mt 23 and 1Cor 13. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The word of God: Grace: is clarified as being seven revelatory things: (i) quick: alive, which speaks of the "living" God of the 'living", the God of all grace, that God (ii) power-full: full of power(gospel in Rom 1:16), which grace + law is not "full" of (iii) sharper than any twoedged sword: a "twoedged" sword is law + grace and grace + law (iv) piercing to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit: soul/spirit: first/last Adams (v) piercing to the dividing assunder of joints and marrow: blood is made in the marrow (vi) a discerner of the thoughts of the heart: His grace (JC) often discerned their thoughts (vii) a discerner of the intents of the heart: good intentions(plural) are often good + evil The point being made is the word of God: grace is neither dead nor alive + dead, but alive; for the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the "living" God of the "living": the God of all: grace. That word: grace, of that God: the God of all grace, is powerful, full of the gospel, truthful, not watered down truth + lie (grace + law). His grace is "sharper" (keener, more aware) than any twoedged sword (than doublemindead grace + law folk). And it pierces to the dividing assunder of soul/spirit, first/last Adams, rightly dividing the last, that of this/that, as the Lord from heaven, the Lord of lords, and the Lord of all. So much more could be said, such as the first + last = oxymoron unless Alev/Tahv is perceived as the central light of Menorah seven. Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. As JC said God said: there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, nor hid that

shall not be known; so assuming love is blind is a false assumption, for love sees all and knows all, even sees the end (of law) from the beginning (of sorrows) and knows adding law to grace makes all sinners. And if the penalty for sin is death (to all if any sin, by the curse of the law), then grace + law = extinction. Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. The good profession Paul spoke of to Timothy (1Tim 6:12) also spoke of eternal life, not temporal life + death all those had in Jude 5 being saved + destroyed by grace + law. My take on such eternal life sort of "profession" is: "grace is sufficient" (no law requ'd). And I profess it often, daily. Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are], [yet] without sin. The biggie of our infirmities is the one Melchesedic priests had in Heb 7: they were not suffered to continue by virtue they died, had a dead end, the end of grace + law = life + death. God cannot be tempted (James), so then Jesus as God in the flesh was tempted, but he remained without sin (did not add law to grace is sufficient; neither obeyed nor disobeyed any law). And although tempted, he resisted the devil, and the devil did flee. For as it says in James 1:27 pure religion is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, but remain unspotted; which is to say visit grace + law folk, but not add any law to grace is sufficient. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. And the conclusion is: "let" (His grace always says "let": "let" there be light, "let" us make man, "let" us cross over to the other side; and such let speaks of so it is written, so let it be done as written; or simply allow it to be).... let "us" (just us, not them + us nor them vs us, but simply "us" to whom God gave the victory; and perhaps why the Lord is l-o-n-g-suffering to "us"-ward, so none perish) ... let us therefore "come" (not go nor both come + go) ... let us therefore come "boldly" (as a collective whole, or on behalf of all not just self or some only, and fearlessly seeking truth no matter what) ... let us therefore come boldly unto "the throne" (note it's the throne, not thrones; of one king: the only wise God)... let us therefore come boldly unto the "throne of grace" (not law nor a mixture of grace + law)... let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, "that we" (that we is a collective whole, all one, all of one)... let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of of grace, that we "may" (not must, but may; for must is a law word whereas may is a grace word) ... let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may "obtain mercy" (note law doesn't have any mercy: "all those who died under Moses' law died without mercy", and blasphemy the Ghost is merciless: unpardonable; but God is merciful, and unto all)... let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and "find grace" (the learning game seems to be hide & seek, seek & find; and what we are seeking to find is His grace)... let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace "in time of need" (evidently there is neither mystery nor time for such in eternity, so the objective is to solve the mystery in time, by finding grace in time of need; and evidently we all need understanding: awareness, enlightenment, which is why Solomon said in Prov 4:7 "with all thy getting, get understanding"; also clarifying that when understanding is embraced, when we dare get close enough to embrace understanding, it result in thy head being crowned with "grace" glory, the glory of the God of all grace who reigns on a throne of grace).
