Parker Team Meeting March 26th, 2013

Agenda Transitions Staff Meetings Consequences Scholar Time School-Wide Transitions


2nd, 3rd, 4th periods Students left unattended (teachers will need coverage) Teams will come up with plan for Monday after Spring Break to determine how students will be escorted to and from electives. April 11th parent meeting on school safety. Teams will contact the parents of the most disruptive students and personally invite those parents to the meeting. All staff are expected to attend. Letter and Connect-Ed will be sent as well. April 23rd New Student Orientation at 6:30 pm. All staff expected to attend. Curriculum Fair begins at 6 pm. PBIS video for transitions (model expectations) will be shown Tuesday after Spring Break. Student expectations - Straight single file line to the right - Left foot on line - 2-foot voice - Hands/ feet/ objects to yourself Staff Expectations Share plan with teachers during team meetings on Tuesday, Mar. 26 (email to teachers about meeting) - Core teachers on every team are expected to escort students to elective, following stated expectations - Core teachers will also pick up and escort students to 2nd elective

No referrals should be submitted for transitional procedures the week of April 8-12th Regardless of time of day, all staff must be reinforcing expectations

Monday, April 8 Grade level assemblies Tuesday, April 9 Students will watch videos on transitioning during exploratory Wednesday, April 10 Each one, teach one modeling, practicing during exploratory (6th grade) Ongoing monitoring of 6th grade Thursday, April 11 Each one, teach one modeling, practicing during exploratory (7th grade) Ongoing monitoring of 7th grade Friday, April 12 Each one, teach one modeling, practicing during exploratory (8th grade) Ongoing monitoring of 8th grade Evaluating Transitions April faculty meeting on third Monday (April 15) monitoring and assessing progress. Team leads will email at end of day with pluses/ deltas/ concerns. Consequences for the 3 Ds (Defiance, Disruptions and Disrespect) All classroom issues (that result in classroom consequence) must include a parent phone call within 24 hours of the concern. Every instance that involves intervention requires contact. 1st Occurrence Warning 2nd Occurrence Bounce within team with work 3rd Occurrence Teacher level detention (lunch, before, after school) 4th Occurrence Referral to administrator Never send student unattended to the office. Scholar Time during Exploratory begins on April 15th.
