Guerrero, Maria B. "Video Games You Want Your Kids To Play. (Cover Story)." Behavior Analysis Digest International 24.1 (2012): 1-2. Academic Search Complete. Web. 20 Feb. 2013. This article has two points of view. The first point of view is of a man who states that video games cause children to acquire sedentary behavior and become obese. They are choosing to play video games rather than go outside and pick up a soccer ball. These habits eventually lead to psychological affects such as depression and also physical illnesses like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. The second point of view is a woman who states that it is crucial that children get at least an hour of exercise per day. She began to look at combining both gaming and exercising and came up with exergaming. This is the use of video games to perform physical activity such as stationary bikes, Dance Dance Revolution, and sports simulations. Exergaming intrigues the children to play the video game while also exercising. Both point of views are opinionated based off of facts and studies. These points of views gave me an explaination of both sides of the argument.

Pope, Tara Parker. "Wii Video Workouts Dont Beat Real Sports." The New York Times. N.p., 27 Decem 2007. Web. 11 Mar 2013. <http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/12/27/wii-video-workouts-dont-beat-realsports/>. This online article comes from The New York Times. The article consists of a research conducted to show that people that play the Wii burn more calories than other video games, but not as much as you do playing actual sports. Researchers have found that the Wii does not burn enough calories to consider it physical activity, but that it at least encourages kids to get off the couch and get somewhat active rather than sitting around living a sedentary lifestyle.

This online document has one author that uses many U.S studies on children playing video games. It states how children play inactive video games played from sitting down which causes lazy behavior. A study was conducted that discovered games such as the Wii can help promote and cause children to exercise. Also, they found that kids who play intense fighting games cause childrens heart rates to increase which leads to burning

calories. This author used facts and studies to inform the public about which video games can cause obesity in children and which games help create physical activity. This informed me that some games cause an increase in heart rates, which burns calories.
