Launched D.light Kiran S10 the most affordable Solar Lantern (Priced at Rs 499/- for consumers) D.light Energy Pvt. Ltd is a Silicon valley venture in solar portable products, for providing to rural India lighting solutions at affordable price and improving their quality of life. The joint venture was being funded by Mahindra & Mahindra and host of international venture capitalist. Presently the mass market operation is limited to two states U.P & Maharashtra while the focus is on organized retail chains in rural India like Godrej Aadhaar & ITC e-chaupal and N.G.O partners various other states.
