Biography
Gaetano Parisio was born in Naples on 30th November 1973. He is to include among the most influential dj-producers of Neapolitan school. His career starts in the early 90s, when he discovers his passion for remixing, and starts to create a beat with a peculiar minimal sound. Here he reaches to enter surprisingly in the different alternative clubs of the city. The meeting of Marco Carola, his best friend, will support Gaetano in a progressive development of the groove. Immediately he will purchase an equipment to build up a real recording studio where to develop his own ideas and skills. In the 1996 Gaetano Parisio releases his first record, Gaetek ep: four dynamite techno tracks proving absolute familiarity on decks. In the same year, his name appears on international famous record labels like Design Music, Prime and Planet Rhythm. By the end of 1997, here comes his own label, Conform Records. It is a natural call for the creation of new sounds and Gaetano starts producing not only himself, but also big names like Adam Beyer, The Advent, Ben Sims and Rino Cerrone. The turning point is in 1998 when Parisio leave on tour with Marco Carola as far as Australia and America. This is the official entrance in techno universe. In 1998 Gaetano Parisio his second label: ART. Thanks to its quality a sort of mutant techno and to his vinyl thrill, this project becomes a real cult for those who love this kind of music! In1999, Gaetano is extremely impressed by war in Kosovo, so he sets up a cooperation among the greatest name of techno scene, in order to collect a lot of profits to give to charity to the children in Kosovo. For the first time in Italy, and not only, a charity work is carried out in techno contest, which involves main artists like SvenVth, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer, The Advent, Marco Carola, James Ruskin, Cari Lekebush and Ben Sims. On December of the same year, Parisio get back to his studio productions. The ep 1999, produced on Drumcode of Adam Bayer and reviewed as one of the best record of the moment, is a vitamin essence of original techno minimal. A continuous 4/4 modulation defines an insistent but fascinating rhythm. Those are the years of tech-house storm, but the new millennium see the birth of a third label, Southsoul Records: ten chapters of techno minimal appeal! His approach has producer and dj, brings him to smoother sounds, conveying in a challenging stylish mix. His intention is to generate a crossover among techno and house djs. At the same time, Gaetano improves his technique within the thirteen chapters of the explosive project Advanced Techno Research and keep on searching rhythmic minimal structures. Equally, the new label Adagio, sees the bpm leaving the scene to a wormer micro-house form. The first five letters of the alphabet are now leading to a new trail in electronic music. We are at the end of the millenium and Parisio again turns his way to more sensual and elegant tracks, softening his music with measured rhythms. A first ep 92 Elements of 2006 and especially the following one, Smart Guy, on Claque Musique of Carola Pisaturo, perfectly reflects the celebrated shifting rhythms of Gaetano. So many performances in the festivals all around he world, contribute to inspire this changing style.
