TE 112- What did the Spanish do to make money when they did not find much gold in North America? TE 112- Where were many American Indians and enslaved African forced to work? TE112-Who led the 1680 revolt against the Spanish in New Mexico?

6. Discuss with your group-? What kind of labor work do you imagine doing once you grow up? Are you planning to attend college? 7. CLOSURE: Discuss the two statements in the Review and Assess section TE 113. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? We learned that Native Americans were forced to work in the haciendas with little or no pay. They were forced to create the labor demanded and were treated badly. Many of them died of overwork. Students will write a short paragraph describing what they think of labor work. Work is part of our economy if there arent many jobs, and then our economy is not getting better. Nevada has faced a big unemployment rate within the last years. What else do you know about unemployment? E10.5.7 Define labor force and unemployment.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Students have learned that Native Americans were forced to do labor work in haciendas with little pay or no pay at all. Students will be able to define labor force and unemployment rates in our state. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest part to teach will be discussing that one earns money by working and the more educated you are the less likely you will struggle to find a job. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The hardest part to teach will be explaining about the treatments the Native American received by making them work with no pay and causing them to die due to overworking them. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? As an extension to the lesson, I would use Extend Lesson 5 (pg. 114-115) Leadership in Spain. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?

For the students that who dont grasp the concepts, I would use the Reteach Mini lesson on page113. I would do this gathering in small groups or whole group depending on students comprehension. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I like the way this lesson has been created, but I would like to bring in pictures of people doing labor work, so students can get an idea of the hard work people had to face in order to bring food to the table. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of this lesson plan was debating on the assessment, as I wanted to relate it to the real-life scenario. Theres nothing better than providing students with an overview of the real life and how it affects us. I want to be able to extend what students have learned in this lesson and connect it to the lives we are living. By having them write for their assessment portion will allow me to identify what they are still struggling with.
