TE 105- When the Spanish claimed all of Mexico in 1535, what did they call it? TE 106- Where did Hernando de Soto go on his search for gold? TE 106- What did Coronado and his soldiers hope to find?

6. Discuss with your group- What do you think of ambition, considering that Cortez went to take someones else gold and power? 7. CLOSURE: Discuss the two statements in the Review and Assess section TE 107. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? We learned that the Conquistadores fought for riches, gold and power. In this country we work for our money for household. Money goes to schools, hospitals and other state departments. What are some resources used in our country for living here? An example is cows are used as a resource for milk, cheese and all dairy products that we consume. E9.5.3 Identify the resources needed for production in households, schools, and community groups.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Students have learned that we need resources in households and schools. After the readings of this lesson students will be able to understand that in the USA we work for our money to live and not by being a conquistador and taking from others. Students will discuss with their groups resources need for production in households and schools. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest part to teach will be discussing that money is important to countries and to obtain power. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The hardest part to teach might be educating students about how money is spent in different ways including schools and hospitals. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? As an extension to the lesson, I would use Extend Lesson 4 (pg. 108-109) Spanish Explorers. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?

For the students that who dont grasp the concepts, I would use the Reteach Mini lesson on page107. I would do this gathering in small groups of four to keep the noise level down. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I like the way this lesson has been created, I dont think I would make any changes except I would bring in a graph/chart to show the distribution of tax money in our state. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of this lesson plan was debating on the assessment. As, this lesson includes a lot information in relation to history and geography. I had to stay on topic to economics and it made my assessment a little more challenging, but I feel that with the information I will provide my students with, they will have no problem gasping the concepts and be able to master this lesson.
