Course Title: CHAKRA DANCING & MEDITATION TEACHING DIPLOMA 2011

The focus of this course will be on training tutors to heal the body, our individual and collective selves through movement, dance and creative meditation. This challenging and rewarding course will take students on a journey of self-discovery and transformation and empower others to find happiness in themselves. Anita Whittaker will prepare students to lead chakra dancing workshops that will free up natural energy flows, harmonise and balance the chakras, strengthen our state of health and well-being and have fun! Graduates will be supported by Chakra Dancing Ltd to facilitate the self and others towards a deeper sense of being with empathy, integrity, compassion and unconditional love. Chakra Dancing is an exhilarating, powerful, liberating and ultimately an ecstatic approach to improvisational movement, open to everyone, no matter what age, shape or experience, bringing people together and exploring how we can assist each other using free expression through movement dance and creative meditation. In 2008 Dance in Yoga (continued professional development) was launched to graduates of the above teaching diploma and is fast becoming an integral part of the holistic healing process. There is full insurance for successful graduates of the teaching diploma programme and student insurance for training purposes.

Elizabeth Whiter launched Chakra Dancing in 2001 and the diploma in 2005. This spiritual dance practice has quietly grown and public demand for local classes has increased to such a point that Elizabeth realises there is a need for highly trained chakra dancing tutors who can share the benefits of healing the body through movement, dance and creative meditation. Elizabeth also felt compelled and inspired to create music that resonates with the chakras. October 2002 saw the launch of Chakra Dancing I, already proving to be very popular with all age groups and genres, now in its fourth print run public demand has grown for more chakra music and Chakra Dancing II and III have been very well received. Meditation CDS include Journey through the Chakras, Tibetan Soul Journey and six further instrumental meditation CDS have since been launched to international acclaim.

Anita is a graduate of the Chakra Dancing Teacher Training programme, and holds a IIST fitness teacher diploma, Theta healing practitioner, massage and aromatherapy therapist and is The intuitive weight loss consultant. Anita has worked within the fitness industry for over 13years. She hosts Mind Body retreats in the South of France with Heidi Sawyer.

Course Philosophy and Vision:

Expanding on the work of Chakra Dancing, the course will develop a network of tutors to meet and deliver to the increasing demand for Chakra Dancing workshops and creative meditation across the UK. The course will provide an in-depth study into aspects of emotional, somatic, psychological and spiritual healing and growth. A strong grounding of knowledge of light working will be related to the bodys seven major chakras and their influence on the auric field layers of the self and others. Further study will examine their relationship to elementals, cerebrospinal locations and their effects on the endocrine system. Issues of health and safety, good practice, working with children and vulnerable members of our community and most importantly self-awareness in dance teaching will be covered in detail. Students will also learn other complementary energy healing tools for creative use in Chakra Dancing workshops such as sound, colour, light, creative meditation, and visualisation which correspond to each energy centre. Graduates will become qualified tutors able to lead dance workshops and classes that will take themselves and others on a journey through the chakras to heal the mind, body and soul. Chakra Dancing Ltd will support committed members who have trained in the teacher training diploma course with Anita Whittaker and help promote, recommend and refer tutors. Successful candidates will be awarded the Dip in Chakra Dancing teacher training and be admitted to the register of Chakra dancing tutors at www.chakradancing.co.uk

Length of Course:
The Diploma is studied for six months part-time. This will involve attendance of 10 days, 90 hours over six months in Sussex for theory and practical sessions held onsite. The diploma course will be held at Chealsfield, the founders full time healing practice. Set in eight acres of quiet unspoilt countryside at the base of the South Downs National Park, facilities include comfortable large barn style classroom and dance studio, individual therapy rooms, and meditation garden. Additional home study/diploma assessments. Total time of course 225 hours. On successful completion of this course you will be able to do the following 1. Have a clear understanding of what chakra dancing is and how you and others can benefit from this healing journey through movement, dance, and creative meditation. 2. Learning how to take responsibility for yourself and others in a chakra dancing session. 3. Honour, respect, value and love yourself and learn how to meditate. 4. Aware of yourself as a whole person, loving others unconditionally as you love yourself. 5. Able to work with compassion and empathy, not being judgemental or critical. 6. Know how to connect to the universal healing energies for the purpose of chakra dancing. 7. Tools to assist you: The importance of sound, music, musical instruments, colour, visualisation techniques, chanting and voice work. 8. How to open, conduct and close a chakra dancing session. 9. Able to work and communicate with others in the community. 10. Have a basic grounding of the chakras and the endocrine system, physiology and anatomy of the human body. 11. Able to identify emotional, physical, mental and behavioural problems in others coming for chakra dancing. 12. Develop your own unique style within the teacher training programme. 13. A basic knowledge of nutrition and diet. 14. Be aware of how we are all interconnected. 15. Aware of the importance of personal and class safety, professional standards, as well as the relevant insurance. 16. The importance of marketing and developing business skills to run a successful chakra dancing practice. You may wish to include the sale of Chakra dancing music. 17. Understand the importance of Support Groups and continuous professional development. 18. Be more aware of yourself as a chakra dancer and consider how and when you will use your training and experience from this course. Entry Requirements Completed application form and a formal interview with Anita Whittaker. All successful applicants should have a basic knowledge of healing. If not we have a foundation course in healing to prepare you for the diploma.

CHE: Graduates will be required to attend continual professional workshops in order to maintain teaching standards and be aware of new ideas and developments within the chakra dancing organisation. All modules will be taught by qualified professional healers and dance tutors who are at the top of their field.
