What is INSERT? INSERT stands for Interactive Notations to Effective Reading and Thinking. A set of symbols are used to indicate the level of understanding: Knew it, Dont think so; New knowledge, I wonder; Dont understand. As student reads text, he puts the symbol next to the sentence to indicate his level of understanding. Aims of INSERT : to focus students reading, and check level of understanding.
