Introduction
1. This appendix is specific to Tier 5 (International Agreement) and will help you to work out whether you can sponsor a contractual service supplier or independent professional under this route. You must also read the full guidance for sponsors, which sets out the all of the requirements for sponsorship under Tier 5 (International Agreement). 2. In the table that follows: a) WTO refers to a World Trade Organisation member. You can find a list of all of the members of the World Trade Organisation on the internet using this web link http://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/whatis_e/tif_e/org6_e.htm b) c) d) CARIFORUM refers to the EU-CARIFORUM Economic Partnership Agreement. Chile refers to the EU-Chile Free Trade Agreement. Andean refers to the EU-Andean Free Trade Agreement

How to use the table 3. Step 1. What sector is your contract in? You need to identify which sector the person who will supply a contracted service to you is operating in. For example, if your contract is for the supply of architectural drawings and advice, the relevant sector is architectural services. 4. Step 2. Look in column 1 to see if the sector is covered by an international trade agreement. If the sector is not listed, you cannot bring a contractual service supplier or independent professional to the UK under Tier 5 (IA). 5. Step 3. If the sector is listed, read across the next 2 columns.

If there is a tick in Column 2 under : a) WTO, you can bring a contractual service supplier to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if the supplier of that service is established on the territory of a country that is a member of the World trade Organisation. b) Chile, you can bring a contractual service supplier to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if the supplier of that service is established on Chilean territory. c) CARIFORUM, you can bring a contractual service supplier to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if the supplier of that service is established on the territory of: I. Antigua and Barbuda; II. the Bahamas; III. Barbados; IV. Belize; V. Dominica; VI. Dominican Republic; VII. Grenada; VIII. Guyana; IX. Haiti; or X. Jamaica. d) Andean, you can bring a contractual service supplier to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if the supplier of that service is established on the territory of: I. II. Columbia; Peru

If there is a tick in Column 3 under: a) CARIFORUM, you can bring an independent professional to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if they are established as a self-employed person on the territory of: I. Antigua and Barbuda; II. the Bahamas; III. Barbados; IV. Belize; V. Dominica; VI. Dominican Republic; VII. Grenada; VIII. Guyana; IX. Haiti; or X. Jamaica. b) Andean Colombia you can bring an independent professional to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if they are established as a self-employed person on the territory of Colombia. c) Andean Peru you can bring an independent professional to the UK under Tier 5 (IA) if they are established as a self-employed person on the territory of Peru.
