PROJECT
2). INTRODUCTION After attaining the required compaction of the soil, blinding concrete is the first concreting, that acts as a barrier between the compacted soil and the upcoming building. This also prevents the rising of the water table. 3). TERMINOLOGY O/E: Owner / Engineer PPE: Personal Protective Equipment QC: Quality Control 4). SIGNIFICANT HAZARDS IDENTIFIED Contact of concrete with eyes Collapse of concrete pump Movement of vehicle Sharp pointed edges Electrical shock Slip/trip/fall/hazards

5). ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY Project Manager (Main Contractor) o Site construction and his team will report to project manager. Construction Manager (Main Contractor) o Make arrangement for availability of all relevant documents. o Ensure the availability of necessary documents & resources available with Subcontractor. o Liaison with Owner/Engineer & Subcontractor in-charges for necessary test & inspection. o Tracks the schedule & plan work accordingly. o Liaison with all Electrical/MEP work in-charges for all interfaces works and plans the work accordingly at site.

Engineer (Main Contractor) o Ensures the control at work spots in person.

PROJECT
Compaction Test, Plate load test to be carried out before proceeding with any activity on compacted surface and compaction test results to be submitted.

Concreting Concrete shall be carried out as per the approved materials and mix design based on the MAS-0023 (RE Status). Dwg.No RE 5300 V 7261 Rev-A Sheet 1/3 to 3/3 (132/22 kV Basement General Arrangement & sections - AEN) shall be followed for the concreting. The top of the blinding concrete level shall be followed strictly to the approved drawings. 1000 gauge polythene sheet shall be provided above the well compacted soil. Once the polythene sheet has been spreaded over the same surface, level pegs shall be made so as to maintaining the top level of the concrete and shall firmly hold the polythene sheet also. Shuttering to be fixed in the marked area. Cclearances for PCC from MML Electrical Engineer shall be obtained in prior to the concreting. 75 mm thick blinding concrete shall be poured as per the requirement of specification / approved drawings with the help of pump. Maximum Ambient temperature < 400C. Power float machine shall be provided (if needed) to smooth the surface of P.C.C. Required curing period of 7 days for the concrete shall be properly done.

Inspection and Testing Curing Curing of concrete will begin immediately after finishing of the concrete surface and in line with the requirements of the concrete curing and protection of the contract Specification. Immediately after the finishing, horizontal surface will bee covered with polythene sheeting with edges lapped or tied down to exclude air circulation. After concrete has stiffened, sheeting will be removed and replaced with approved type Hessian soaked with water covered with polythene to prevent evaporation.

Surface preparation shall be completely done and notified to the O/E through inspection request Slump test shall be carried out at the check point and slump shall be maintained as per the specifications or as per the O/E requirements. Temperature of concrete shall not exceed +30C at pouring point. Testing cubes for 7 days and 28 days shall be prepared as per the Contract specifications clause 2.8.1 .e of S-TR-CIVIL-CONCRETE (Rev.0-2010) and send for the tests.
