Regeneration Programme Complete Following Handover of Affordable Homes in Warsop Vale, Mansfield
The final phase of a major regeneration programme in Warsop Vale, Mansfield is now complete and KPW Architects, designers of a new affordable housing development on Greenshank Road and Greenshank Close, joined project partners to mark the handover of the 1.65m project and see their vision brought to life. The Leicester-based architects were appointed by asra Housing Group, working in partnership with Mansfield District Council, Meden Valley Making Places (MVMP) and the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), to design the new development which constitutes part of the HCAs Affordable Housing Programme (AHP). Part of the land adjacent to Greenshank Close was contributed by the HCA as its commitment to the Programme, with the remainder provided by MVMP. Comprising 22 new homes overall, the development, which has been built by scheme partner Mansell Construction Services Ltd on a design & build contract, forms the final section of the regeneration of Warsop Vale and will complete the masterplan of development for the village. Tim Clark, Director, KPW Architects said: Our vision at Warsop Vale was to seamlessly integrate the new homes into the existing village, complementing the rural surroundings. Now construction is complete, we can really see the positive impact that these new homes have made, not only in providing much needed affordable housing for the local area but also in creating a new and sustainable community in Mansfield. Sally-Anne Underhill, asra Housing Groups Service Delivery Manager for Nottinghamshire said: It is refreshing to see village Communities taking the initiative to develop new homes and services for their area. We look forward to further building our relationship with the Warsop Vale Community Land Trust and overcoming the challenges they face in their community.
