SOFTWARE RELEASE NOTES FOR TANDBERG MOVI 2.1

Introduction
These release notes describe the features and capabilities included in the TANDBERG Movi software version 2.1 released on 12 May 2009.

New Features
Movi 2.1 is a maintenance only release. No new features or functionality are included within this version over the previous release.

Changes and Improvements since Previous Version

TANDBERG PrecisionHD USB Camera
Movi 2.1 will now automatically recognize a TANDBERG PrecisionHD USB camera if installed on the local PC. Upon recognition of this camera, it will automatically be used as the primary camera for all Movi calls. Movi will now prioritize wide formats from the TANDBERG PrecisionUSB USB camera, when possible.

Bootstrap
All bootstrap configuration items specified on the installer command-line will now be the default for all Windows users of the PC Movi is installed upon. Movi 2.1 has added the USEWINDOWSUSERNAME parameter to the bootstrap parameter list. When used, Movi will use the configured username within the Windows installation. Additionally, the Remember my username/password box will be automatically checked and the Username and Password input fields, Remember my username/password check boxes and Forget Me link will be disabled. When Movi is uninstalled from the local PC, all user data that was installed in the registry will now be properly removed.

Bandwidth Configuration
To improve the user experience in the most common deployment model, the default bandwidth for unprovisioned users have been changed within Movi 2.1 to an outgoing bandwidth of 384 kbps and an incoming bandwidth of 512 kbps. The end user can manually modify this configuration parameter up to a maximum of 2 Mbps.

Stability
Resolved an issue that would cause the Movi client to crash if an @ symbol was configured within the domain name of the client. Movi will now properly support changing the inbound and outbound bandwidth when the selfview is active.
D50563 Rev. 6 Page 6 of 20

TANDBERG Movi 2 Software Release Notes

A number of other crashes have been fixed within the Movi 2.1 software release.

Provisioning
If an invalid media port range is provisioned to the Movi client, the client will now ignore the provisioning setting only in regards to the media ports. The Sign In sequence has been improved within Movi 2.1 to allow Movi to more effectively handle a failure of configuration or provisioning.

Video
An issue that would cause floating colors in the video of the Movi client has been resolved. The issue was related to an erroneous 4x4 chroma block skip that has now been removed.

Usability
User Interface Anti-aliasing borders have been added to the rounded corners of the Movi client. Ring tones The outgoing ring tone will now start playing upon receipt of the 180 RINGING message back from the SIP proxy of the Movi client. Presence If the contact name for one of the contacts within the My Contacts list is changed, presence will now properly be displayed for that contact. If, upon receipt of an incoming call, the end user rejects the call, the presence of the end user will no longer change to Busy. DTMF Tones Movi will now properly transmit DTMF tones when the client is active on a PC using the Czech keys. Time Zone If the time zone on the local PC is changed, Movi will now use the newly configured time zone within the Recent Calls list on the client.

Known Limitations
TANDBERG
Ref. ID N/A Equipment TANDBERG Movi ver. 2.1 TANDBERG Movi ver. 2.1 Limitations TANDBERG Movi 2.1 requires the Provisioning Solution which includes VCS X4.1 and TMS 12.1. Movi 2.1 does not function properly without this the Provisioning Solution. TANDBERG Movi 2.1 does not support H.263. This will be addressed in the next major release of Movi.

TANDBERG Movi 2.1 can only be run on the primary monitor. It is not possible to run Movi 2.1 on a secondary video output of the PC. TANDBERG Movi 2.1 does not support BFCP for Dual Stream capabilities. This will be addressed in a future version of Movi. In TANDBERG Movi 2.1, it is not possible to sort the contacts in My Contacts. This will be addressed in a future version of Movi. If the end-user gets a message from TMS that a new version is available (by a link on the GUI). When they start the installation, the installation box will not pop up in front of all the other applications. It is recommended that a Fully Qualified Domain Name be used for the Internal and External VCS addresses. If an IP address is used for Internal VCS, then Movi 2.1 may not register to the External VCS. TANDBERG Movi 2.1 will use the Windows default input and output devices for audio and video. It is not possible to select different devices from within Movi 2.1. Movi will prefer to use the TANDBERG PrecisionHD USB camera over all other configured cameras on the local PC. TANDBERG Movi 2.1 is sending the DTMF signals in band in the audio stream or as SIP signals. If the microphone is muted Movi 2.1 will only send out of band DTMF tones. Because the Codian MCUs only support in band DTMF tones, make sure to always leave the microphone un-muted. If TANDBERG Movi 2.1 is in a call that experiences significant packet loss and high jitter and then Selfview is activated, it is possible for the client to experience a nonresponsive state. This will be addressed in a future version of Movi. In certain high packet loss call scenarios, during the first 15 seconds of a call, if Bandwidth Adaptation has been utilized, it is rare, but possible to experience no audio during those initial 15 seconds of the call. This will be addressed in a future version of Movi. Movi 2.1 does not include CPU awareness and will not reduce quality when the CPU load is high. The user can experience bad audio since audio is more sensitive to packet loss than video. The workaround is to close all application running on the PC to reduce CPU load. If the CPU load is still high then one should reduce the video resolution (Settings menu in Movi). If you still have problems then one should reduce incoming and/or outgoing bandwidth (Settings menu in Movi). In certain high packet loss call scenarios, after a prolonged period of time and if Bandwidth Adaptation has been utilized, it is rare but possible to experience no video during the call if Selfview has been switched to On. This results in the Movi 2.1 client becoming non-responsive. This will be addressed in a future version of Movi.

If using a Logitech Camera which includes echo cancelation. TANDBERG recommends you do not use Logitechs own Cancel Echo. This will result in broken audio heard from the PC. In order for Movi to transmit w720p capability resolutions to a capable remote endpoint, the client must be configured for Video Resolution to High and the maximum output bandwidth must be configured for a minimum of 1200 kbps. All user paths (both registry and file system paths) still contain version 2.0 and not 2.1. The removal of data files upon un-installation of the TANDBERG Movi client is not yet supported. It is not possible to join a conference on a TANDBERG MPS that is running J4.3 or older. This was addressed in the J4.5 software version of the TANDBERG MPS.

SOFTWARE RELEASE NOTES FOR TANDBERG MOVI 2.0

Introduction
These release notes describe the features and capabilities included in the TANDBERG Movi software version 2.0 released on the 17 February 2009.

New Features
Movi 2
Movi 2.0 is TANDBERGs new video conferencing PC client, enabling video to be deployed to the desktop throughout an organization. For successful deployment, the new Provisioning solution, comprised of a TANDBERG Video Communications Server (VCS) running X4.1 or later software and TANDBERG Management Suite version 12.1 or later software, must be deployed. For more information on this deployment mechanism, please reference the TANDBERG Provisioning Deployment Guide (document D1436801).

SIP
Movi is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) client, providing a platform to implement some of the newest and most versatile communications protocols in the industry. As a SIP client, the Movi endpoint uses the SIP Registrar/Proxy capabilities of the VCS and can take advantage of the interworking functionality of the VCS to communicate with H.323 endpoints. Additionally, Movi can connect to H.320 endpoints through the use of a gateway on the enterprise network.

Audio and video codecs

Within the 2.0 release, Movi supports the G.711, G.722.1 and AAC-LD audio codecs as well as the H.264 video codec for video, with resolutions up to and including w720p. Note: Movi is limited by the maximum video and resolution of the web camera used.

Encryption
TANDBERG Movi 2.0 supports AES-128 encryption, signified by the lock icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen during a call. The Encryption and Transport protocol policies are governed through Provisioning. Movi 2.0 supports encryption On, Off and Auto.

Presence
A users current presence and display name are shown in top right-hand corner when the client is signed in; Online by default. Clicking on the display name displays a list of alternatives so that each user can configure what other Movi users see as their status. If a users presence status is Online (default) before making or accepting a call, then the presence changes to In Call for the duration of the call. However, if presence status was one of the alternatives, then the presence status will not change during a call. The Presence Server and Presence User Agent on the VCS has to be set to On for the clients presence to function properly.

Phone book search

Movi has the ability to retrieve entries from the phone books from the TMS Agent on the VCS. All of the other provisioned Movi users are also available and can be searched from within the client. If you select one of the devices/contacts in the phone book search results, you see presence information for that device/contact. Additionally, phone books from TMS can be added to the provisioning service in order to provide the phone books to the Movi clients. Please see the TANDBERG TMS Administrator Guide (document D13741) for more information.

Contact list.
In version 2, the Movi client has the ability to add users to My contacts. By clicking Add new contact from My contacts list or by clicking Add to my contacts from the results of a phone book search, you can maintain, edit, and delete your contacts list. When you open My contacts you see presence status for those users that send presence information.

Recent calls
Within the TANDBERG Movi 2.0 client, you can click the Recent calls button to see outgoing, incoming and missed calls with details including the time and date. You can add a contact to My Contacts by highlighting and clicking on a call from the Recent calls list. Select one of the calls in the Recent calls list, to see the Duration of the call.

Full screen
The TANDBERG Movi 2.0 client supports full screen mode; click the full screen button on the toolbar or double-click in the video window. Full screen mode is disabled by double-clicking again or by pressing Esc. The Movi 2.0 window can also dynamically re-sized the window during a call by clicking and dragging one of the corners.

DTMF
The TANDBERG Movi 2.0 client can encode DTMF tones numbers 0 9, # and *. During a call click on the DTMF icon to display the DTMF GUI or use the keyboard to send DTMF tones. For example, when joining a conference on a TANDBERG 4200, 4500, 8400 or 8500 series MCU, it will be required to enter the conference ID and optional password from the Movi client using DTMF tones.

Media mute
Within the Movi client, it is possible to mute the video stream, thereby not sending any media to the far end. When the video is muted, the stream is kept alive through the use of STUN keep alive mechanisms.

Echo cancellation
The TANDBERG Movi 2.0 client has built-in echo cancellation to help improve the audio quality of a video call. Note: Due to the echo cancellation mechanisms of Movi, it is recommended that any software-enabled echo cancellation with either the web cameras or the microphone installed on the PC is disabled.

Bandwidth adaptation
If the TANDBERG Movi 2.0 client experiences high packet loss during a call, it requests the remote side to reduce the call rate. Subsequently, when the client does not receive packet loss for more than 10 seconds during that same call, it will request the remote side to increase the call rate again.
