The California Planning Foundation (CPF) is pleased to announce its 2013 scholarships and awards program for outstanding planning students enrolled at accredited professional planning degree programs in the State of California. Category I is for students and categories II and III are for the faculty. Outstanding Student Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded based on an application and selection process by the CPF Board. These scholarships are designed for continuing students entering their final year of an undergraduate or masters degree program. Criteria for the scholarships include academic performance, financial need, increasing diversity in the profession of planning, and a commitment to serve the planning profession in California.
First place: $5,000 (plus APA California conference registration and APA membership) Runners-up (three): $3,000 each (plus APA California conference registration and APA membership) Diversity in Planning: $3,000 (plus APA California conference registration and APA membership) Paul C. Crawford/CPR Scholarship: $1,000 (plus APA membership) Russell Fey Scholarship: $1,000 (plus APA membership)
This scholarship is sponsored in honor of Paul C. Crawford by the California Planning Roundtable (CPR) for students interested in public planning in California. The Central Section contributes to this award to honor Russell Fey, founding faculty member for the planning program at Fresno State University. The Section encourages consideration of students from the Central Valley for this award.
Frank Wein/CPR Scholarship: $1,000 (plus APA membership) David Wilcox Scholarship: $1,000 (plus APA membership)
This scholarship is sponsored in honor of Frank Wein by the California Planning Roundtable (CPR). This scholarship is sponsored in honor of David Wilcox by the Wilcox/Gerhardt families. Central Coast Section (one), Inland Empire Section (one), Los Angeles Section (three), Northern Section (two), and Orange Section (one) fund annual scholarships for students from their respective Section for attending an accredited planning program in the Section.
The faculty in each accredited professional program select one continuing student, based upon academic performance and professional promise in the State of California. Each recipient receives a $1,000 scholarship and a one-year student membership in APA.

The faculty in each accredited professional program select one graduating student annually, based upon academic performance and professional promise in the State of California. Each recipient receives a one-year student membership in APA.
Accredited planning programs include the masters degree at: California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo California State Polytechnic University, Pomona San Jose State University University of California, Berkeley University of California, Irvine University of California, Los Angeles University of Southern California and the bachelors degree at: California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
