Layered Flowers Make 2 - using 2 different size hooks - the flowers on the hat pictured used a 4mm and 5mm hook. For larger flowers, or more layers, use a different size hook for each layer (i.e. use a 4mm, 5mm and 6mm for a three layer flower) R1: AL, ch1, (1 sc, ch1) 6x into the AL (creates 6 ch1 spaces) R2: (ch2, 1dc) into each ch1sp around (6x), ch2, ss to 1st chain of the round (creates 7 ch2 spaces) R3: (ch3, tr2tog, ch4, ss) in each ch2 space around (7x), ss to join and F/O (creates 7 petals) Layer the flowers, one on top of the other and stitch (with a contrasting colour of yarn) through the centre. You can also securely attach a button or bead to the centre, before attaching the flower to the hat.

For the colour change used in the photo, change colour at the end of R1 and then again at the end of R3. To attach the colour for R4, attach the colour in the ch1sp to the right of the final ss of R3.
