Curriculum Specification 1.7 Listen to and enjoy stories, fables and other tales of imagination and fantasy and predict outcomes, and draw conclusions at a level suited to the pupils ability. 2.5 Talk about the people, places and moral values of the stories heard, read and viewed in simple language. 4.7 Give accurate information when writing messages, instructions, simple reports, and when filling out forms. Objectives:

Learning Standard 1.7.2 Listen to simple stories and recall the story-line by answering simple Wh questions. 2.5.2 Give details about the people and animals of a story heard or read. 4.7.1 Write simple instructions, directions, messages for a purpose.

By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: 1. Listen to the story and circle the answer 2. Discuss the questions given and explain their answers. 3. Write an apology letter.

Moral values: You should think clearly before making decision, Previous Knowledge: Pupils have been introduced to past tense words. Set induction (5 minutes)

Questions: 1. Do you know this animal? A : Monkey, crocodile. 2. Where does this animal live? A: On the tree, in the river.

1. Teacher shows some pictures of animals. 2. Pupils are required to answer some question probed by the teacher.

Presentation (20 minutes)

Multiple choice questions: What was the crocodile doing? Who did the crocodile met? How did the monkey save himself? What did he say? What happened at the end?

1. Teacher asks pupils to gather around to listen to a story. 2. Teacher gives handout to each pupil. 3. Pupils are required to circle the answer when they listen to the story. 4. Teacher tells a story of The Monkey and The Crocodile to the students by using puppet. 5. Teacher discusses the answer with the pupils.

Practice (16 minutes)

Questions: Have you ever been to the zoo? What animals did you see there? What animals that you are interested in? Should animals be kept in a zoo?

1. Pupils have to sit in groups of three. Each group is provided with an envelope. 2. In the envelope, there are three questions. Pupils have to discuss the answer in the group. They are given 9 minutes to discuss. 3. Teacher asks the group to present their answer to the class.

Production (14 minutes)

Imagine you are the crocodile. Write a letter of apology for your evil plan.

1. Teacher gives pupil a situation where they have to imagine that they are one of the characters that is the crocodile. 2. They have to write a letter of apology for the evil plan.

Closure (5 minutes)

1. Teacher read the words and pupils need to copy the words correctly.
