DISCUSSION
The objective of this experiment is to determine the diffusion coefficient of a gas by evaporating from a liquid surface. Acetone with the density of 790 kg/m3 kmol, 22.4 m3 for volume and 58.08 kg/mol for molecular weight, was used. The function of the blower which made up from small compressor is to blow the air in the t tube to create air flow, so that the evaporating of the acetone can occur. Without the blower, the evaporating rate of the acetone will be very slow due to the absent of air flow inside the tube. From the results obtained through the experiments, it shows that when the temperature of the water bath is 400C, the different of the acetone level in the t-tube decreasing between the range of 0.2mm and 0.3mm. It can be said that the acetone liquid evaporating with the same average rate throughout the experiment. But when the temperature is increase by 50C, the average evaporating rate of the acetone increases with between the range of 0.3mm and 0.4mm. In the molecules explanations, the higher the temperature will increase the kinetic energy of the molecules, thus breaking the bonds and the molecules are become more freely to move between the molecules. So, it is easier for the molecules to be evaporates. The diffusion coefficients of the acetone gas are same if the temperature, flow rate of air in the tube, and height of t-tube to the acetone liquids are same. But, when the temperature, flow rate of air in the tube, and height of t-tube to the acetone liquids are different, the diffusion coefficient of the acetone will be different. That was proved when the temperature of the water increased by 50C, the diffusion coefficient increased. The diffusions coefficient of acetone in this experiment for 400C is -2504.53 m2/s and for 450C is -3650.55 m2/s. For the graph t/(L-Lo) against (L-Lo), the theoretical graph should get the straight line, but, the actual graph obtained is fluctuate. This might be happened because the water heater is not in good condition and had been reported faulty before. So, there is might none constant temperature of water, thus effect the evaporation of acetone in the t-tube. Some of the precautions steps should be considered on this experiment are the water bath must be leaves for one hour after set the temperature. This is because, the instrument for heating the water need to be leave for one hour for the temperature to be stabilized for all the water. Other

than that, when take the reading of the microscope, the eye level must be horizontally to the scale. Because of the scales are very small, it must be carefully take the readings. Besides that, the temperature controller cannot be set above 500C to prevent the acetone from boiling.

CONCLUSION As a conclusion, the result for diffusivity coefficient at 40 C is -2504.53 m2/s and the diffusivity coefficient at 45 C is -3650.55 m2/s. There are some errors when the experiment was done. Some of recommendations step should be taken otherwise the result for diffusivity would not be accurate. To sum up, the experiment had been done with quite accurate results although some error happened.

RECOMMENDATIONS Some recommendations should be implements in this experiment. One of them is insulating the glass container. It will maintain the temperature through the experiment and the heat will not loss to the surrounding. Next, the reading meter should be stabilized with the person who read the meter. The person who read it should be at the same level to the meter. By doing this, parallax and reading error can be minimized.
