Asphalt Reinforcement
02
BEBIT asphalt reinforcement grids are made out of glass bers with a melting point of more than 850C due to their specic properties, BEBIT G and BEBIT G plus asphalt reinforcement grids can take high tensile stress and also qualify for their low elongation. The occurring tensile stress is taken by BEBIT asphalt reinforcement grids and effectively absorbed load-distributing over the surface.
Areas of Application: Repair of bituminous trafc areas Superposed structures of utility trenches Increase of widths of trafc areas Superimposed structures of various surface coverings

BEBIT Product Program
BEBIT G, an extra-sturdy reinforcement grid, of low-creep and extremely temperatureresistant technical glass bers. It can absorb high tensile stress already at minor elongation. The melting point of BEBIT G is at 850 C. In addition, the glass bers are recyclable to the effect that milling-off is no problem in case of repair. The re-use of the recycled asphalt is possible. BEBIT G plus consists of reinforcing grid BEBIT G. Additionally, it is equipped with a mesh ll made out of voluminous glass ber yarns. This additional glass roving acts as an installation aid and increases together with the bituminous emulsion the adhesion to the layer surface during the installation. It allows for a faster and more secure processing without extra mechanical xing as well as an excellent layer compound. Gritting after the installation can be avoided. Types

Installation Conditions
BEBIT asphalt reinforcement grids shall be generally installed between two asphalt layers. In case this condition is not given, an asphalt-bound intermediate layer has to be installed prior to installation work. BEBIT must be installed on leveled base surface. If required, a bituminous equalizing layer shall be installed before to ensure full-surface contact to BEBIT. A bituminous emulsion according to our installation guidelines will ensure a solid adhesive compound between the covering layers. Bituminous emulsions and adhesive tack coats present themselves as environmentfriendly and praxis-oriented solutions. The installation of BEBIT is ordinarily performed manually (with the assistance of rolloff devices) or with adequate vehicles. Pre-stressing of the asphalt reinforcing grid, including full-surface xing by connection with bolts, is not required with type BEBIT G plus.
Detailed installation instructions can be taken from the current BEBIT installation guidelines and shall be available to the personnel performing the work at the construction site and those persons who are responsible. The rules and regulations applicable for the installation of asphalt layers will keep their validity with the installation of BEBIT asphalt reinforcing grids.
