Provides emergency financial assistance for persons experiencing an unexpected, verifiable financial situation that leaves them unable to pay rent, mortgage and/or utilities. A Red Cross caseworker verifies the need and eligibility. For information about community resources for other individual and family needs, call 316-219-4070 and leave your name and phone number. A caseworker returns calls for an over the phone screen to see if you meet guidelines. An application can be downloaded online at:

Provides a structured living environment for up to five girls (ages 10 21, at any stage of their pregnancy) and their new babies, regardless of whether they chose to keep their baby or place it for adoption. Works in conjunction with existing community agencies to provide for every area of need, including physical, spiritual, social and psychological.

Many churches ask people seeking assistance to start by going to C.A.N. for screening Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 am - noon & 1:30 - to 2:30 pm (walk-ins welcome). Assistance provided might include hotel vouchers and referral to shelter programs.
