2012 BULK TRASH SCHEDULE


SPRING COLLECTION April 15th April 22nd April 29th May 6th May 13th May 20th June 3rd June 10th June 17th

FALL COLLECTION July 29th August 5th August 12th August 19th August 26th September 9th September 16th September 23rd September 30th

Trash must be put out on Sunday of each Bulk Trash Week. Each property is limited to a pile of trash that is 12 feet long, 3 feet high, and 3 feet wide. Excessive amounts of trash are subject to a fine. Annually residents are allowed to dump one (1) ton of trash at the East Side Transfer with proof of residency (water bill, etc.). Call the East Side Transfer at 821-0029 for additional pricing for additional tonnage. Resident's trash will be accepted 7am-10am or 1pm-3pm ONLY. TWO (2) PIECE TRASH COLLECTION

In addition to the Spring and Fall trash collection schedule, residents may set out 2 pieces of large trash per property each week on their regular garbage day (weather permitting). A property is defined as a taxable address. If more than 2 pieces of trash are set out for collection, the property owner may be subject to a fine. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT PERMITTED: BUILDING MATERIALS, TIRES, PAINTS, CHEMICALS OR HAZARDOUS WASTE

CURBSIDE COLLECTION PROGRAM RULES


1. Garbage Totes, Two (2) piece, yard debris and recyclable items must be set out no earlier than 7:00pm the evening before, or no later than 6:30am on the morning of your regularly scheduled collection day. 2. Failure to comply with the rules of the curbside collection program will result in a legal summons. For additional information regarding participation in curbside collection program, please call 311 or 851-4890. 3. Refrigerators, stoves and other white appliances must be placed at the curb at the same time with your totes. City collection crews will notify a special crew to pick up appliances. Note: One (1) refrigerator per household per calendar year Doors must be removed prior to being placed at the curb. 4. Leaf disposal must be placed in recyclable or clear plastic bags only to ensure proper recycling procedures. 5. Only City of Buffalo Totes shall be put out for curbside collection. No private totes allowed.

CITY LOT PROGRAM


Owners of vacant lots are required to keep their land clean and cleared of grass, weeds, brush and other debris that may accumulate. The City can perform this service after June 1st, 2012 if the owner fails to maintain the lot properly. The owner will be billed for services rendered at a cost of $210.00 per lot.

PICK AND PAY PROGRAM


In addition to the Spring and Fall collection schedule and two (2) piece trash on garbage day, residents can request a pick and pay. For a MINIMUM fee of $81.00 the City will pickup four (4) cubic yards of trash. To schedule an appointment for this program please call 851-5544. Do not place bulk trash out to the curb until an appointment has been scheduled. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT PERMITTED: TIRES, PAINTS, CHEMICALS OR HAZARDOUS WASTE

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS

TIRE-DROP-OFF EVENTS City of Buffalo residents only may drop-off a maximum of four (4) tires. Tires must be clean and off the rim. Tires may be dropped-off at the Broadway Garage, 197 Broadway, between 8:00am and 3:00pm. Tire Drop-Off Dates for 2012: April 28th June 2nd August 4th September 15th
