INTRODUCTION This computational geotechnics course is tailored for engineers and researchers seeking knowledge on the use of Plaxis. Join us and discover new potentials for effective and confident usage of Plaxis Finite Element Codes within your professional organisation. SUBJECT MATTER You will learn advanced techniques and solutions from experts from PLAXIS and partner academic institutions. Plaxis numerical analysts will have the

opportunity to further develop their understanding of Plaxis Codes extensive range of capabilities. FORMAT The course consists of intensive session blocks and each block is made of two full 45 min lectures and a 60 min exercise with full tutoring. COST The course fees will be (in Indian Rupees & includes service tax): Participants from companies: INR 19,500.

Participants from Research Institutes and Institutions: INR 12,500. Students: INR 7,500. The course fee includes a full set of instruction materials and the use of a computer. The course fee does not cover accommodation. HOTELS Accommodation is not provided. Participants are encouraged to secure their own accommodation.

LECTURERS Prof Ashish Juneja Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay Dr Ashish Juneja is graduate from IIT Roorkee and postgraduate from IIT Delhi. He obtained his doctorate from NUS, Singapore. He has over 7 years of experience in site investigation and design of underground tunnels and openings. Since 2005, Dr Juneja is at IIT Bombay where he teaches and researches in the area of soil characterisation, numerical and physical modelling in geotechnics, earthwork, ground improvement, design and construction of foundations and earth retaining structures. Mr V, Sivasubramanian Ram Caddsys Pvt Ltd Mr. Sivasubramanian is graduate from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, and Chennai. He obtained his post graduate from Sathyabama University, Chennai. He has over 10 years of experience in Structural Design of various

industrial structures, sub structures, bridges and etc. He is with Ram Caddsys Pvt Ltd, Chennai from Feb 2011 and looking after technical support for geotechnical and infrastructure solutions. Dr William Cheang Wai Lum Plaxis AsiaPac Pte Ltd William is currently a Principal Geotechnical Consultant in Plaxis AsiaPac. He received his BEng (Hons) and MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of East London. He holds a Ph.D from the National University of Singapore. His interest is in Computational Geotechnics. He lectures around Asia on the use of Plaxis finite element codes and a member of the Plaxis Expert Service team. He has been involved with Plaxis finite element codes since 2000. Prof T.N.Singh Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay Dr. T. N. Singh has made innovative and substantial contribution in several fields of Geosciences. He

is well-known in the area of Engineering Geology, Rock mechanics on account of his pioneer work in Rock-Mechanics, establishment of Rock Indices, Triaxial and Post Failure Behaviour of Rocks, Dynamic and Static Properties of Rocks, etc. Dr. Singhs noteworthy contribution in the area of ground vibration due to blasting and slope stability has earned him recognition between the earth scientists and engineers. He has made prominent contribution to the design of blast for improved fragmentation. He has established Equivalent Material Modelling technique for simulating various Geo-mining problems.
