Language and Learning

What the benefits are when we learn multiple languages? Does the process of learning language change the brain? When is the best time to learn another language? Is there a risk?

When we ask to ourselves those questions we analyze many factors which can cause some changes in our lives When we talk about learn a new language, we think about such an interesting it would be I remember when I started to study a second language it was very interesting to me but it was very hard too and I always thought that the real reason was because I didnt has any previous knowledge before I started the university, but watching this video makes me realize that even that would be a factor the main reason is because there is a natural process and it depends of the time when we start to learn a second languageI mean is harder to adults learn a second language that children maybe we can say that but not using that words, I mean..when we start to learn a second language we focus just on solving task and asking for help to accomplish the tasks, but a child takes the process like have fun, I mean they take the risk without feel afraid to fail because for them it is something new and use to communicate in a different way, though this is the same for adults but it has a different process so it makes the things a little harder, children get that in a unconscious way and it gives such a great benefits for them in their liferegards to the psychologist (Ellen Byallystok) children get wonderful issues in their cognitive and linguistic

competence and it happen when they start to acquire the second language in early age according to them it is very important to have a successful learning process it doesnt mean that monolingual students will not be smarter than bilingual students it just means that it can give them great abilities and benefits to them in their curricular process, because any stimulating activity improve the development of their brain structure and mental functions, so learn a second language is a stimulating process and it would help children to improve themselves. Regards to the psychologist Laura Ann Pettito, learn more than one language in early age cant affect in a negative way our brain because our brain is made to learn more than one language, but if we do that in the correct time it will be more successful, because early exposure to a second language is necessary to have a good phonological and syntactical competencebecause according to this psychologist there is a limit of time, I mean there is a time when children stop to process the language information in one way and they start to get it in a different way, it doesnt mean that they stop to learn it means that they continue learni ng but in a different waythats the reason why adults learn a second language in a effective way but is almost impossible to reach the phonological and syntactically competence than a child who is exposed to a second language in early age. So, we can see that nowadays in many schools are working with ESL, and according to one of the teacher invited to the T.V. show talks about how kids are exiting for learning a second language even a third and more languages because for them it is a wonderful way to communicate with other kids and have fun, at the same time they are getting confidence, creativity and cultural benefits which help them in their curricular competence too.

In my opinion all that can give benefits in our lives are good for us and there is something that really caught my attentionsome words said by Ellen Biallystok Psychologist, York University. Language is good, more languages are better. For me it is a fact that when we learn more than one language we have more opportunities in many points of view, I mean we get extra knowledge and have many good issues regards to what learns a second or even a third language means so as Ellen said. Language is good, more languages are better.
