RULES

General Site Policies

GENERAL SAFETY
Nobody does any construction, repair or maintenance work without through the necessary safety training. New contract employees must be buddied with experience persons. Barricade all work with site signage. Need two persons two carry materials greater than 8 feet in length. GFCIs are required for all portable electrical equipment and extension cord.

Housekeeping policy
Keep area free of tripping hazards, pick up materials daily. Coordinate work activity with others in area. Maintain clear pathways. Do not block exits or emergency equipment. Clean up your work area prior to leaving. Do not store materials on top of cabinets, gang boxes. Etc

Personal Protective Equipment


Personal protective equipment is the last line of defense against chemical and physical hazard: Engineering and administrative controls will be implemented wherever possible to eliminate hazards. Personal protective clothing and equipment do not reduce or eliminate the hazard, but interpose a barrier between the work and hazard.

PPE

Wear your Personal Protective Equipment

All PPE used shall meet or exceed applicable ANSI standards. PPE shall be selected based on the hazard present. Contractors must supply and maintain their own PPE. All contractors must be property trained by their companies on the PPE.

*Minimum PPE for construction activities: Hard hat Study work shoes

ANSI approved safety glasses with affixed side shields.

Personal Protective Equipment


Other PPE that is open required and must be specified in your work plan. Full face shield and goggles. Steel toed shoes. Kevlar gloves. Hearing protection Respirators Full body harness, shock absorbing lanyard.

Working from Elevated Surfaces

All work above 6 feet where exposed to a fall must be conducted with 100% tie off at the Intel site. Must be planned Type of Situations requiring fall protection. *Unprotected sides and edges. *Leading edges. *Hoist Areas *Excavation, pits, shafts. *Roofing *Wall and floor openings *Extending off catwalks, above ceiling, over tools.

Safety signs and Barricades


Follow all safety signage prior to entering area. All work hazards must be properly indicated (e.g hard hat).

All work must be properly barricaded and marked. Barricade must designate ownership, hazard and date. You will be responsible for providing all required signs or barricaded for the area you are working. Barricades must be once hazard is removed (en and day/shift). Any deviations must be approved by sponsor.

Signs & Barricades


Common signs: Read = danger NEVER CROSS, coordinate w/ person identified on barricade signage. Yellow = caution DONT CROSS until hazard is identified and its safe to do so. Minor drop hazards, ladders.

Powered Industrial Vehicle Safety


Operators of forklifts & other pivs must be trained and medically cleared. Seat must be used at all times if provided. Operators must be inspecting before used. Only electric forklifts are allowed for used indoors. Mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP) (e.g. scissors lift. Bucket truck, JLG, spider basket) must be inspected PRIOR to being used on site. MEWP operators and buddies must be trained on proper use and safety controls. *MEWP must have dual action control (no foot pedals) *daily checklist must be completed posted on unit when in use. *ZERO tolerance for any violation.

Carne Safety
Must comply with the crane manufacturers specification and limitations. Must be inspected by a competent person before each use. Current load test certified available. Boom path must be barricaded. All rigging gear must be inspected. Tag lines must be used on all loads. No lifting over populated areas.
